In an ultra-competitive AL East, it's the Orioles who sit at the top with a 64-41 record. The Blue Jays, meanwhile, have a 59-47 record and are tied with the Astros for the second AL Wild Card spot. The two divisional foes are facing face off tonight, and you can watch for free on MLB.TV.

Two years after winning just 52 games during the 2021 season, the Orioles have taken monumental steps forward in successive seasons. After improving to 83 wins last season, the O's have the AL's best record in 2023 and are on pace to clear 90 wins for the first time since 2014. Baltimore's long rebuild has culminated with a roster littered with talented stars such as Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson -- not to mention more help coming in Jackson Holliday, MLB Pipeline's No. 1 prospect.

Rutschman and Henderson have received plenty of support along the way. On the offensive side of things, Anthony Santander has a 120 wRC+ dating back to last season. Austin Hays, a first-time All-Star in '23, is enjoying a career-best season (113 wRC+). In regards to the pitching, Kyle Bradish has broken out as the O's top starter with a 3.29 ERA in 104 innings. Félix Bautista and Yennier Cano -- two other first-time All-Stars in '23 -- have formed one of baseball's top reliever duos.

The Blue Jays are on track for their third straight 90-plus win season and third playoff appearance in the last four seasons. They're holding on to the third AL Wild Card spot but there's plenty of competition on their heels -- the Red Sox and Yankees are just behind them. In the most competitive division in the Majors, the Blue Jays haven't been the best or most exciting team but they've proven once again that they're playoff-caliber.

Leading the way for Toronto has been Kevin Gausman, a potential Cy Young Award candidate, as well as Matt Chapman and Bo Bichette, two of the top-25 position players by WAR. On the flip side, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has struggled to reach the heights of his 2021 season while Alek Manoah required a stint in the Minors after struggling on the mound earlier this year. It's a roster that, despite their recent track record of making the playoffs, has maybe underperformed their lofty expectations.
