LaRoche still slowed by back spasms

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The White Sox had hoped to get designated hitter Adam LaRoche into Cactus League action again on Monday, but they're giving his ailing back another day, partly for logistical reasons.
Manager Robin Ventura said he's hopeful LaRoche will be ready for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, which will be at home and therefore make treatment for his back easier to coordinate once he's done on the field.
"He's just set back another day. It's nothing physical, we just wanted to give him one more day," Ventura said of LaRoche, who came out of a March 6 Cactus League game with back spasms.

Catcher Dioner Navarro, another veteran, is day to day after fouling a ball off his foot. He wasn't slated to play Monday anyway, with Hector Sanchez behind the plate vs. the Royals.
Meanwhile, outfielder Adam Eaton continues to make progress toward a slated March 23 return to the outfield. He underwent offseason surgery on his left shoulder and has been relegated to 23 at-bats as a designated hitter in Cactus League action. But he's making progress toward returning to the outfield, taking things up a notch during batting practice.
"I know he's throwing and going out for BP and moving around the outfield, taking fly balls in all three positions. He's doing well and things are progressing as they should," Ventura said.
