The Chicago White Sox reinstated right-hander Dylan Covey from the 10-day disabled list, the club announced Tuesday.
Covey takes the roster spot of righty Tyler Clippard, who was traded to the Houston Astros on Sunday for a player to be named or cash considerations.
Covey, who celebrated his 26th birthday on Monday, has been on the disabled list since May 26 with a strained left oblique suffered on May 23 vs. the D-backs.
The rookie is 0-4 with an 8.12 ERA in eight starts for the White Sox in 2017.
