Chicago White Sox Nike RBI wins Junior Baseball Championship
Chicago White Sox Nike RBI won the Nike RBI World Series Junior Baseball championship on Friday morning at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, topping the Detroit Tigers Nike RBI, 3-1. This marks Chicago’s sixth Nike RBI Junior Division title in program history and fourth in the previous five years. Chicago also won the World Series in 2016 in Cincinnati and 2019 in the first tournament hosted in Vero Beach.
The 2026 Nike RBI Junior title gives Chicago nine overall championships at the event. The White Sox own six Junior Division titles and three Senior Baseball Division championships, last bringing home the crown in 2024 at both the Senior and Junior level. Chicago’s six Junior Baseball championships are the most by any program in the division since the Nike RBI World Series’ inception in 1993. Chicago went a perfect 4-0 en route to the championship, defeating Houston Astros Nike RBI, Durham Triple Play Nike RBI, Atlanta Braves Nike RBI and Detroit Tigers Nike RBI.
The Nike RBI World Series is the international baseball and softball championship tournament of the Major League Baseball Nike RBI program, which is designed to provide young people from underserved communities with the opportunity to play baseball and softball, encourage academic success and teach the value of teamwork.
The Nike RBI program has provided a path for many players to enter the college and professional game. MLB Clubs have drafted well over 200 RBI participants throughout the program’s 37-year history, and many others have been given the opportunity for higher education through baseball and softball scholarships. There have been more than 100 RBI alumni selected between the 2013-2026 MLB Drafts, most recently Daunte Bell II (Dodgers Dreamtown) and Kenneth Ward (Houston Astros Nike RBI) in June’s Draft.
The Nike RBI program, which has served approximately two million young people since its inception, is administered by Major League Baseball and designed to give young people from underserved and diverse communities the opportunity to play baseball and softball, while also encouraging academic achievement and success and teaching the value of teamwork and other important life lessons. Nike RBI currently serves youth in over 150 programs in approximately 200 cities worldwide. MLB and its Clubs have designated more than $40 million worth of resources to the Nike RBI program, and all 30 Clubs support Nike RBI leagues.
