Approximately 70 students and their parents visited the Texas Rangers Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex Presented by Toyota on Wednesday night to participate in a Back to School Event presented by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation in partnership with Comerica Bank, Dallas Housing Authority, and the Buckner Foundation.
Attendees received pre-filled backpacks and other giveaways, donated by Comerica Bank. And Rangers bench coach Don Wakamatsu's WakWay Foundation contributed nourishing foods.
Comerica, the Academy's presenting corporate financial education partner, provided financial tips and education to help students and parents prepare for the upcoming school year.
Rangers alumni George Wright and Bump Wills were on hand for the occasion. And festivities included an appearance and race by the Rangers Golden Chick Dots. Photos of the dot race and Bump Wills speaking to the group are attached to this email.
