The Texas Rangers Youth Academy is heading to the fourth annual Breakthrough Series Invitational Tournament hosted by MLB Develops at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex to compete from June 17-20, 2026. The athletes representing the Youth Academy team in Florida are:

- Christian Lux
- Emiliano Maldonado
- Jonathan Menefee
- Isaac Palmar
- Joshua Pepper
- Diego Reyes
- David Salas
- Jose Luis Salinas
- Jeremiah Smith
- Rocky Turner Jr.
- Blair Walker

Dominik Harper, a right-handed pitcher at Lake Ridge High School, and Evan Ogwezi, a right-handed pitcher at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, are also traveling to the Breakthrough Series training and invitational as two of 79 elite high school baseball players from across the nation selected by Major League Baseball. The Breakthrough Series training focuses on developing players on and off the field through seminars, mentorship, gameplay, scout evaluations and more. Harper and Ogwezi will compete at the Breakthrough Series Invitational on the MLB Develops team.

Scout Team victorious at first tournament of the season

The 2026 Rangers Youth Academy Scout Team earned their first tournament victory of the season at the Five Tool Texas DFW Kickoff Tournament on May 25.
The 18U team started off strong in pool play, winning their first game, 11-0. The team finished pool play with two wins and one tie, scoring 24 runs in their three matchups. Player of the Game performances were delivered by Braylon Hubbard lashing a home run, Arther Darensburg going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored and Daylon Brooks’ hot streak, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored.
Firing on all cylinders, the Academy cruised to a 8-0 victory in the semifinal game. Pitcher Hayden Jones was dominant on the mound, throwing a no-hitter and striking out seven.
The team clinched the tournament title with a dominant 9-2 victory in the championship game. Arthur Darensburg once again earned Player of the Game honors, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
