Celebrate the retirement of Chase Utley, Brett Eldredge postgame concert & more! Ballpark Buzz for Phillies-Marlins weekend series, 6/21-23

The retirement of 2008 World Series Champion Chase Utley kicks off a weekend of fan events surrounding the Phillies-Marlins series (Friday, June 21-Sunday, June 23) at Citizens Bank Park. Below are some of the highlights:

  1. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:40 p.m., as the Phillies celebrate the career of one of the greatest players to ever don red pinstripes during Friday’s sold out Toyota Chase Utley Retirement Night.
  2. This will be a very special pregame ceremony as “The Man” takes the field to be honored for his 13 years with the Phillies. That night’s ceremonial first pitch will also feature a surprise catcher.

The club’s first-round selection in the 2000 draft, Utley was chosen six All-Star teams (all as a starter) and won four Silver Slugger Awards. He holds the Phillies all-time records among second basemen for games played (1,453) and nearly every offensive category, including home runs (226), hits (1,580), RBI (883) and extra-base hits (616).
