Colorado Rockies Name Ian Levin Assistant General Manager

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have named Ian Levin assistant general manager. He joins General Manager Josh Byrnes, Assistant General Manager Tommy Tanous and Pitching Director Matt Daniels as new front office hires under President of Baseball Operations Paul DePodesta.

“Ian brings a proven record of strategic leadership, key roster decision-making, and innovative player performance initiatives,” said DePodesta. “With extensive experience across Major League operations, research and development, player development and amateur scouting, Ian will strengthen every part of our operation. We couldn’t be more excited to bring him to the Rockies.”

Levin joins the Rockies after spending two decades with the New York Mets, beginning as a media relations intern in 2005 before moving into baseball operations the following season. He gained comprehensive experience across the organization, working in amateur scouting (2007-12) and baseball analytics (2013-14), before serving as the club’s director of Minor League operations (2015-16) and director of player development (2017-18). He was elevated to senior director of baseball operations in December 2018 and held that role through June 2021, when he was named vice president and assistant general manager, a position he held through December 2024.

Following his tenure with the Mets, Levin founded his own company, OneOneSports, in 2025, using his extensive professional baseball experience to assist college programs with hiring leadership, infrastructure design, player evaluation and roster strategy.

Originally from Bayonne, NJ, Levin earned his Bachelor of Science in sport and fitness administration and management from Seton Hall University in 2006 before attaining his MBA from Binghamton University in 2011. He and his wife, Sara, have two children, Nolan and Nathan.
