D-backs extend player development contracts with Kane County, Hilsboro

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) have extended their player development contracts with Single-A Kane County (@KCCougars) of the Midwest League and Single-A Short-Season Hillsboro (@HillsboroHops) of the Northwest League for 2 years through the 2018 seasons, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President of Baseball Operations De Jon Watson.
"The Arizona Diamondbacks are excited to extend our relationship with both the Kane County Cougars and the Hillsboro Hops," said Watson. "We value the relationships we have with both organizations and are thankful for the first-class facilities and hospitality that the fans in both cities provide our players. We look forward to working with the outstanding ownership groups in both Kane County and Hillsboro for many years to come."
A D-backs affiliate since 2015, Kane County has posted a 121-101 (.545) regular season record in that span. The 2-year partnership was highlighted by an 84-win season last year, including the Western Division second-half championship after winning a franchise record 48 games after the All-Star Break. Earlier this season, LHP Zac Curtis became the first former Cougar to reach the Majors with Arizona.
Hillsboro has been a D-backs affiliate since 2013, and owns a 136-112 (.548) regular season record in that time. The 4-year partnership includes a pair of Northwest League titles (2014-15) and a franchise record 48 wins in 2014. Five of Arizona's last 6 first-round draft selections, including 2016's 39th overall pick Anfernee Grier, have played for the Hops.
