D-backs recall Anthony Banda from Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled LHP Anthony Banda (BAHN-duh) from Triple-A Reno and optioned RHP Matt Koch to Reno. Banda, who will wear No. 50, will start tonight's game and make his Major League debut.
Banda, 23, entered 2017 as the D-backs' No. 1 Prospect by both Baseball America and MLB.com. He went 7-5 with a 5.08 ERA (57 ER in 101.0 IP) in 18 starts for the Aces, including 17 strikeouts and just 3 walks over his last 4 starts. Banda threw 5.0+ innings in his last 13 starts and held lefties to a .231 average (24-for-104).
He was the D-backs' 2016 Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 10-6 with a 2.88 ERA between Double-A Mobile and Reno.
Koch, 26, was recalled from Reno on Thursday and did not make an appearance. He has gone 1-1 with a 8.47 ERA (16 ER in17.0 IP) for the Aces this season.
