Dodgers to Celebrate 13th Annual LGBTQ+ Night, Presented by Blue Shield of California, at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium on Friday, June 5 vs. the Angels

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers will play host to their 13th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium, presented by Blue Shield of California, on Friday, June 5. Fans will enjoy a host of celebratory activities both before and after the 7:10 p.m. matchup against the Angels. Tickets are on sale now at dodgers.com/LAPride.

This year, the Dodgers will be installing a tribute to LGBTQ+ trailblazers Billy Bean and Glenn Burke, who both played for L.A. and were among the first professional athletes to identify as gay. The permanent display will be housed in the Centerfield plaza and feature pictures and memorabilia from their careers and text explaining the duo’s contributions to Major League Baseball and professional sports.

The Dodgers are once again proud to continue their longstanding partnership with LA Pride to host the Pride Night party in the Centerfield Plaza, beginning at 5:10 p.m. until first pitch. Produced by non-profit organization Christopher Street West Association, LA Pride is Southern California’s largest LGBTQ+ celebration and producer of L.A.'s official, original Pride parade for more than 50 years.

Out in the plaza, fans will be able to enjoy a variety of musical performances, including the Mariachi Arcoiris of Los Angeles, the first LGBTQ+ mariachi band in the world. A unique and dynamic ensemble representing the traditions of the rich culture of Mexico, this group was created as a haven for mariachi musicians who identify as LGBTQ+ to come together and perform traditional Mexican regional music. Other musical acts, including DJ Brizzle, will be joining Mariachi Arcoiris in the Centerfield Plaza, and the rest will be announced at a later date.

UMI, a singer, songwriter, and sonic healer whose genre-defying sound blends R&B, neo-soul and folk will perform the National Anthem and Maybelle Blair will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Blair, who was born in Inglewood and attended Compton Junior College, pitched in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) in the late 1940s and celebrated her 99th birthday in January. In her retirement, she has worked on different projects for the AAGPBL, serving on the board of directors and the Chair of the Fundraising Committee, which helped to bring the league story to the public eye and was largely responsible for the opening of Women in Baseball, a permanent display based at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, which was unveiled in 1988. In 2022, Blair publicly came out as a lesbian while promoting the TV series A League of Their Own.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., OutLoud Sports will once again host a kickball game in the Dodger outfield. OutLoud Sports is the nation’s original LGBTQAI+ and Allies recreational sports league, founded in 2007 and now serving over 60,000+ queer and allied players nationwide.

In addition, all fans who purchase a special ticket pack at dodgers.com/LAPride will receive an exclusive Dodger LGBTQ+ jersey upon entering stadium gates.
