BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today placed outfielder Eli White on the 10-Day Injured List (retroactive to September 9) with a right foot ligament injury. To fill his spot, Boston recalled infielder Anthony Seigler from Triple-A Worcester.
White, 32, has played in 96 games between the Atlanta Braves (69 games) and Red Sox (27 games) this season, batting .246 (47-for-191) with 27 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, six home runs, 29 RBI, and five stolen bases. The right-handed hitter has made 20 starts in right field, 14 in left field, 13 in center field, and one as the designated hitter. Originally selected by the Athletics in the 11th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the South Carolina native has hit .216 (184-for-851) with 28 doubles, six triples, 26 home runs, and 96 RBI in 372 career Major League games with the Texas Rangers (2020-22), Braves (2023-26), and Red Sox (2026).
Seigler, 27, has played in 48 games for Boston this season, batting .250 (37-for-148) with 12 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 13 RBI, and a .736 OPS, while making 39 starts at second base. The switch-hitter has also played in 44 games this year for Worcester, hitting .267 (43-for-161) with 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 27 RBI, and a .791 OPS. Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the first round (No. 23 overall) of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, the Arizona native has hit .233 (49-for-210) in 82 career Major League games with the Milwaukee Brewers (2025) and Red Sox (2026).
