Dodgers Yoshinobu Yamamoto Named National League All-Star

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Dodger pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been named National League All-Star, joining teammates Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages at the 2026 All-Star Game in Philadelphia. The Dodgers will have five representatives at the game, which is tied for a Major League-high with Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Yamamoto, 27, heads to his second straight Midsummer Classic. The 2025 World Series MVP makes his team-leading 16th start of the season tonight against the Padres after helping silence San Diego 15-3 in his last outing on June 27. Through 15 starts, he is 8-5 with a 2.67 ERA (29 ER/97.2 IP) while striking out 90 and walking 19. The Bizen, Japan native ranks among the best NL hurlers in several categories, including ERA (7th, NL), WHIP (0.89, 2nd, NL), and opponents’ batting average (.194, 2nd, NL) and set a Dodger record by retiring 45 consecutive batters from June 6 through 13. The two-time World Series champion has been in the Majors for three seasons and sports a 27-15 record with a 2.67 ERA and 396 strikeouts across 63 career starts.
