Indians promote LHP Jeff Beliveau from AAA Columbus

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League roster:
  
• Selected the contract of LHP JEFF BELIVEAU (#38) from Triple-A Columbus. 
• Optioned RHP ADAM PLUTKO to AAA Columbus. 
Beliveau, 31, has spent most of the season in Columbus, posting a mark of 0-1 with a save and a 4.70 ERA in 14 relief outings (15.1IP, 11H, 8R/ER, 4BB, 22SO, .196 avg). He is averaging 12.9 strikeouts per 9.0 IP at Triple-A and has limited left-handed batters to a .120 (3/25) average against. This marks his second stint with Cleveland, appearing in 5 games (4ER/3.1IP) from April 26-May 3 during his first tenure while recording a one-out save on Apr. 30 vs. Texas. Left-handed batters are 1-for-7 off him at the Major League level this year.
