Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm has been selected the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet, and New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo has been named the American League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.

Bohm earned his first career Player of the Week Award and is the second straight Phillie to secure weekly honors after his teammate Trea Turner won last week. Overall, it is the ninth time in Philadelphia’s history that it has won back-to-back Player of the Week Awards and the first time it has happened since 2013, when Domonic Brown won on May 26^th and June 2^nd. Rizzo claimed his fifth career honor after previously winning once as a member of the Yankees on May 13, 2023; and three times as a member of the Chicago Cubs on August 29, 2018; August 21, 2017; and July 20, 2014. He is the second Yankees player to claim weekly honors this year after his teammate Juan Soto won on April 1^st.

• The 27-year-old hit .567 (17-for-30) with a home run, eight RBI, eight doubles, one walk, six runs scored, a .933 slugging percentage and a .581 on-base percentage in seven games last week.
• The Nebraska native led the Majors in batting average, on-base percentage, OPS (1.514), hits (17), doubles, extra-base hits (9) and total bases (28); led the NL in slugging; and tied for the NL lead in RBI.
• The third overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft had multiple hits in six of his seven games, including four games with at least three hits, as he improved his current hitting streak to 12 games. Over the 12-game stretch he is batting .521 (25-for-48) with three homers, 16 RBI, 10 doubles, four walks, 11 runs scored and a 1.474 OPS.
• The runner-up for the 2020 National League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award had an extra-base hit in all seven games last week and his current eight-game streak with an extra-base hit is the longest of his career. It is the longest streak by a Phillies player since Chase Utley recorded an extra-base hit in nine straight games from May 25-June 3, 2008.
• The Wichita State product drove home four runs on Saturday night, hitting a two-run homer and a two-run single. His 26 RBI are the most on the Phillies this season and are tied for the second-most in Baseball.

• The 34-year-old hit .407 (11-for-27) with four homers, seven RBI, two doubles, one walk, eight runs scored and a .926 slugging percentage in seven games last week.
• The Florida native led the Majors in homers; tied for the Major League lead in runs scored; paced the AL in total bases (25); ranked second in the AL in slugging and OPS (1.355); tied for second in hits (11); and ranked sixth in batting average.
• The three-time All-Star slugged his 300^th career home run on Sunday at Milwaukee, becoming one of 12 active Major Leaguers with at least 300 career home runs. The homer marked his fourth of the week as he raised his slugging percentage for the year from .294 to .446.
• The 2016 World Series Champion picked up three hits on Saturday at Milwaukee and four hits on Sunday, marking his first four-hit game since July 23^rd of last season. Overall, it was his 16^th career game with at least four hits and he finished the series going 7-for-13 (.538), marking the most hits in a three-game series by a Yankee this season.

Right fielder Adam Frazier of the Kansas City Royals earned his first career Play of the Week Award, and the fourth overall honor for the Royals. It is the first win for Kansas City since Bobby Witt Jr. won on May 15^th of last year, joining the club’s two awards on April 11^th and May 9^th in 2022. With the Royals ahead of the Tigers, 1-0, in the bottom of the third inning at Comerica Park on Friday afternoon, Parker Meadows hit a ball to the wall, forcing Frazier to leap up and make the catch over the wall to bring the home run back. Frazier quickly finished off the play, throwing the ball to first base to double up Javier Báez. Additional Play of the Week candidates included George Springer’s long run and diving grab; Buddy Kennedy’s slick barehanded play; Taijuan Walker’s behind the back snag for the double play; the Braves’ relay to cut down the go-ahead run at home plate; Bobby Witt Jr.’s over the shoulder catch; and Kyle Isbel’s nice grab near the warning track.
