Jennie Finch Empowerment Award presented by Arm & Hammer to make its debut this season

Major League Baseball and Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the makers of ARM & HAMMER™, today unveiled the new Jennie Finch Empowerment Award presented by ARM & HAMMER, which will honor four young women every year who demonstrate powerful characteristics such as Leadership, Motivation, Commitment, Humility, and Integrity. The four winners will represent one of the following MLB softball-based events: Softball Breakthrough Series, Jennie Finch All-Star Classic, Elite Development Invitational, and the RBI World Series. The winners will be selected by an MLB-led blue-ribbon panel, which includes Finch who was Olympic Gold Medalist and Collegiate Softball Champion, and currently serves as an MLB Youth Softball Ambassador.

Winners of the awards will receive a trip to the World Series presented by YouTube TV and be accompanied by the Softball Legend as they are recognized on-field prior to a game during the Fall Classic. ARM & HAMMER will also donate $20,000 ($5,000 on behalf of each of the four award winners) to the MLB Youth Foundation, which will directly benefits softball initiatives. The MLB Youth Foundation, established in 2001 as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, provides recreational opportunities for underserved and at-risk youth to grow the sport of baseball and softball and cultivate diversity in all aspects of the game. The Foundation’s program activities include the operation of running year-round baseball and softball programs and educational workshops, local and travel tournaments, as well as grants to other nonprofit organizations that further the Foundation’s game development and educational goals.
