Nationals acquire INF/OF Matt Reynolds

The Washington Nationals acquired infielder/outfielder Matt Reynolds from the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations on Monday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Reynolds, 27, appeared in 115 games for the New York Mets over the last two seasons. His versatility has allowed him to appear at shortstop (31 G/20 GS), third base (30 G/11 GS), second base (12 G/5 GS), left field (8 G/5 GS), first base (3 G/1 GS), and right field (1 G/1 GS).
          
Reynolds enjoyed four stints with the Mets in 2017, appearing in a career-high 68 games. He hit .230 with one double, two triples, one home run, five RBI, 14 walks and 12 runs scored. In 33 games for Triple-A Las Vegas, Reynolds hit .320 with a .396 on-base percentage and a .484 slugging percentage (9 2B, 4 HR).
A native of Tulsa, Okla., Reynolds was originally selected by the New York Mets in the second round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Arkansas.
With the trade for Reynolds, the Nationals now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
