Astroline continues tomorrow on SportsTalk 790
HOUSTON, TX - _Astroline_, the Astros popular weekly radio show, will air its 11th episode of the season tomorrow on SportsTalk 790 from 6-7 p.m. CT. Astros television broadcasters Geoff Blum and Julia Morales will serve as the co-hosts for the show, which will feature a pre-recorded interview with Astros prospect Korey Lee. Lee is one of several minor league players currently working out at the Astros minor league mini-camp at the Spring Training facility in West Palm Beach.
In addition to listening along on SportsTalk 790, the show can also be heard live on the iHeartRadio App.
All Astroline shows, which are presented by Karbach Brewing Company, are scheduled to broadcast on SportsTalk 790, but are subject to change due to scheduling conflicts.
Lee was the Astros first-round pick in the June 2019 MLB draft from the University of California-Berkeley. During his minor league career, he’s batted .273 (151x553) with 14 home runs, 82 runs, 73 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 152 games. The catcher is listed as the Astros number one overall prospect by Baseball America and MLBPipeline.com
Blum will be returning for his 10th season on the Astros television broadcast team in 2022, his sixth as the everyday color analyst for Astros telecasts. Blum, who retired after 14 Major League seasons as an infielder (1999-2012), made the transition from the playing field to the broadcast booth in 2013. During his playing career, Blum had two stints with the Astros, totaling five seasons in Houston (2002-03, 2008-10). Throughout his tenure with the Astros, Blum hit .259 with 228 RBI, 46 homers, 77 doubles and a .711 OPS. A switch hitter, Blum was known as one of the top pinch-hitters and utility players in the game, appearing at four infield positions for nine straight seasons (2000-08). He appeared in the postseason three times in his career (2005-06, 2011).
Morales returns for her 10th season as the Astros TV sideline reporter. As a reporter and anchor for AT&T SportsNet, Morales serves as the primary in-game reporter on Houston Astros telecasts. She has two Lone Star Emmys for her work covering the Astros, with the most recent one coming in 2020. The first was for her work on AT&T SportsNet’s weekly show Astros Bases Loaded. Before moving to Houston, Morales worked as a sports reporter for Time Warner Cable News, formerly YNN in Austin, covering a wide range of events, including the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, World Series, and the College Baseball WS. Prior to joining the Time Warner Cable sports crew, Morales was the weekend sports anchor/reporter for KYTX-TV in Tyler, TX. She began her television career at KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas.
