All-Spring Breakout Teams announced

Major League Baseball today announced the All-Spring Breakout Teams, as selected by the staff of MLB Pipeline, following last weekend’s series of 16 games that showcased the sport’s future stars.

The third annual Spring Breakout featured more than half of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects entering the 2026 season, including four of the sport’s top five prospects. According to MLB Pipeline’s rankings, the top overall prospect for 14 of the 30 MLB Clubs participated, as did 16 of the 30 number two prospects. Additionally, 32 of the top 35 picks in the 2025 MLB Draft were on Spring Breakout rosters.

The 2026 Spring Breakout games were a resounding success in the eyes of participating players and managers.

“Not only are you representing yourself but your organization, where you’re from, and just a collective group of players who are going to be the next future big leaguers coming in ‘27, ‘28, ’29, so it’s a blessing to be out here surrounded by so much talent,” said Tigers prospect Max Clark. “I think it’s the best event in the game personally for all amateur or youth guys. It’s a really, really cool event, just to grow the game, to be around guys that you’re going to play for the next 10 plus years.”

“It was very special,” said Braves prospect John Gil. “When I first came to the United States and saw guys playing in this game, one of my goals was to play in it and hitting a home run made it more special.”

“I let them go play the game and be able to steal bases if they want,” said White Sox manager Chad Pinder. “Let them go have fun. That’s the purpose of this. It’s to get them exposure, get them on TV, just let them showcase, No. 1, their skillset, but also who they are.”

The 2027 Spring Breakout will see the launch of the new Spring Breakout Tournament. The new single-elimination tournament will be held in late March, will showcase the game’s future stars in a more competitive setting, with players now vying for a Spring Breakout title.

Spring Breakout Tournament games will feature teams comprised of top prospects from each Major League Club in the Cactus League and the Grapefruit League going head-to-head in this format for the first time, with each league crowning a Spring Breakout champion.
