Angels acquire RHP Dominic Leone and cash considerations from New York (N.L.)
ANAHEIM - The Angels today acquired RHP Dominic Leone and cash considerations from the New York Mets in exchange for minor league INF Jeremiah Jackson. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, RHP Sam Bachman has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.
Leone, 31, has appeared in 31 total games for New York this season, and has a 1.80 ERA (10 IP - 2 ER) and 15 strikeouts across his last 12 appearances. Since 2021, he has a 3.10 ERA (133.2 IP - 46 ER) in 143 games in relief. A native of Norwich, CT, Leone has pitched in 384 regular season games across 10 Major League seasons with Seattle (2014-15), Arizona (2015-16), Toronto (2017), St. Louis (2018-19), Cleveland (2020), San Francisco (2021-22) and New York (N.L.) (2023).
Jackson, 23, owns a .248 (77/311) average with 15 home runs and 56 RBI with Double-A Rocket City this season. The native of Antioch, TN has batted .249 (307/1235) with 69 home runs across five minor league seasons for the Angels.
