Bally Sports Ohio telethon raises over $260K for the Reds Community Fund

The Bally Sports Ohio telethon on Tuesday, August 17 raised a record $261,000 for the Reds Community Fund.

This is the ninth year in a row that Bally Sports Ohio has dedicated a Reds telecast featuring an hour-long Reds Live pregame show, in-game stories and postgame show to support the Reds Community Fund.

“We are amazed by the incredible support provided by Reds fans, Bally Sports Ohio and PNC,” said Charley Frank, Reds Community Fund Executive Director. “The Telethon effort is months in the making and it’s extremely satisfying when the end result is a fantastic broadcast and record-setting fundraising total.”

Throughout the Reds vs. Cubs broadcast, Bally Sports Ohio featured many of the baseball and softball-themed outreach programs that the Reds Community Fund established and operates. Bally Sports Ohio/Reds broadcaster Jim Day served as telethon host, interviewing several special guests during the program.

For donations of $100 and $200, fans received MVP gift packages containing exclusive Reds merchandise, collectibles and more.

PNC Bank helped make it a record-setting night by pledging $75,000 to the telethon for the second year in a row. PNC’s extraordinary commitment will be directed to the P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy to support fall and winter programming.

Special thanks to broadcasters Jim Day, John Sadak, Barry Larkin, Brian Giesenschlag and Sam LeCure along with the entire Bally Sports Ohio team for another record-setting telethon.
