Blue Jays kick off Toronto's Caribbean Carnival with ballpark celebration on July 27
The spectacular Toronto Caribbean Carnival returns this weekend for the first time since 2019, and with it, the Blue Jays are thrilled to kick off celebrations with the first Caribbean Carnival at the ballpark on Wednesday, July 27 (vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:07 p.m.). In partnership with the Toronto Caribbean Carnival (July 28 to 31), the Blue Jays are celebrating Caribbean culture and traditions with costumes, music, food and drink, and décor straight from the Carnival itself!
Blue Jays Caribbean Carnival event details
- The first 15,000 fans entering the ballpark receive a Blue Jays crossbody bag giveaway
- Pregame performances by award-winning steel pan band & SOCA DJ, DJ Steph Honey
- The WestJet Flight Deck will be transformed into a carnival paradise with DJ Steph Honey performing; Carnival Nationz dancers and performers; jewelled mask kids’ craft; Caribbean décor; and inspired food and drinks
- Section 127 features a showcase and photo opportunity with former Carnival Kings and Queens costumes
- First pitch thrown by the Jr. Queen and King – winners of the 2022 Kiddies for Mas Jr. Carnival
The Toronto Caribbean Carnival is celebrating its 55th anniversary. The Caribbean parade was founded in celebration of freedom and emancipation from slavery and is appropriately hosted on Canada’s Emancipation Day weekend.

- The 37th annual Blue Jays Families Fundraising Weekend on July 29 & 30, benefitting Family Night at Home, which provides a stress-free meal and evening for families in Jays Care programming to enjoy quality time together
- Fans attending the games are encouraged to bring toys, games, and new craft supplies and purchase a Mystery Bag containing an autographed hat by a player, coach, or alumni for $35 or $50, with all proceeds benefitting Jays Care
