Hall of Famer Chipper Jones and two-time All-Star Marquis Grissom will be featured as managers during the 2025 All-Star Futures Game on Saturday, July 12th at Truist Park in Atlanta, it was announced earlier today on MLB Network. Jones, leading the National League team, and Grissom, managing the American League team, will be joined in the dugouts by a decorated group of former Braves legends serving as coaches during the annual showcase, including Hall of Famer Fred McGriff, two-time NL Most Valuable Player Dale Murphy, five-time All-Star Andruw Jones and four-time All-Star Tim Hudson.

The 2025 All-Star Futures Game, which will mark the 26th edition of the showcase, features the top Minor League prospects competing as part of All-Star Saturday. The contest will once again feature a NL vs. AL format, which was introduced in 2019 following 20 years of U.S. vs. World matchups. The game, scheduled for seven innings, will begin at 4:10 p.m. (ET). Last year in Arlington, the NL earned a 6-1 victory, led by home runs from Drake Baldwin and Larry Doby Most Valuable Player Award-winner Cam Collier. With the victory, the NL now holds a 3-1-1 advantage under the AL vs. NL format.

Jones played his entire career for the Braves, debuting with the club in 1993 after being selected with the first overall pick in the 1990 MLB Draft. The Florida native appeared in his first full Major League season in 1995, when he finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting while helping the franchise to its first Atlanta-era World Series title in 1995. The eight-time All-Star retired at age 40 following the 2012 season, and finished his career with 2,499 games played, marking the most in Atlanta history. A lifetime .303 hitter, Jones remains Atlanta’s career leader in virtually every offensive category with 2,726 hits, 549 doubles, 468 home runs, 1,623 RBI, 1,619 runs scored, 4,755 total bases, 1,055 extra-base hits, and franchise records of 1,512 walks and a .401 on-base percentage. Jones captured the 1999 NL Most Valuable Player Award after batting .319 with 41 doubles, 45 home runs, 110 RBI, 116 runs scored and 126 walks while leading the Braves to the NL Pennant. The two-time Silver Slugger Award winner captured the 2008 NL Batting Title, hitting .364 on the season, which marked the third-best for a single season in franchise history. The third baseman, who was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum after receiving 97.2 percent of the vote in his first year on the ballot in 2018, is the only switch-hitter in Major League history to reach a minimum of 300 career homers while batting at least .300. In 2013, Jones had his jersey number 10 retired by the Braves and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.

Grissom played 17 Major League seasons as an outfielder for the Montreal Expos (1989-94), Braves (1995-96), Cleveland Indians (1997), Milwaukee Brewers (1998-2000), Los Angeles Dodgers (2001-02) and San Francisco Giants (2003-05). In 2,165 career games played, Grissom tallied 2,251 hits, 386 doubles, 56 triples, 227 home runs and 967 RBI with 1,187 runs scored and 429 stolen bases. The Atlanta-area native hit .360 with a double, three runs scored and three stolen bases across six games to help the Braves defeat Cleveland in the 1995 Fall Classic. Grissom appeared in the World Series in three consecutive seasons, also helping the Braves to the NL Pennant in 1996 before joining Cleveland for their AL-Pennant winning season in 1997, claiming the ALCS Most Valuable Player Award along the way. In 52 career Postseason games, the four-time Gold Glove Award winner hit .317 with seven doubles, three triples, five home runs, 20 RBI, 34 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. Grissom led the Majors in stolen bases in consecutive seasons, swiping 76 bases in 1991 before recording 78 stolen bases in 1992. Selected by Montreal in the third round of the 1988 MLB Draft, Grissom earned back-to-back Midsummer Classic selections in 1993 and 1994. Grissom, who has served as a coach at various MLB Youth Development events, founded the Marquis Grissom Baseball Association in 2006, providing athletes in underserved communities the opportunity to compete in a competitive baseball league.
