Brewers name Octavio “Cas” Castro, SVP – Human Resources & Planning; Matt Lehmann, VP – Event Operations; Mark Schlifske, VP – Business Analytics

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the promotions of Octavio “Cas” Castro to Senior Vice President – Human Resources and Planning and Matt Lehmann to Vice President – Event Operations; and the appointment of Mark Schlifske to Vice President – Business Analytics. The announcement was made by Rick Schlesinger, Brewers President – Business Operations.

“The promotions of Cas and Matt reflect our commitment to elevate within and support the growth of our leaders,” Schlesinger said. “Cas has overseen the growth of our human resources team and Matt has become an integral component of our highly regarded operations team at American Family Field.

“We are also pleased to welcome Mark Schlifske to the Brewers. Mark’s strategic approach to leveraging data to grow and shape business objectives will be a critical asset in the Brewers front office. We know that his contributions will have great impact on our business operations as we look to enhance our efforts to connect with Brewers fans and the community.”

Octavio “Cas” Castro enters his sixth season overseeing the human resources department for Milwaukee Brewers. Castro has led the department through exponential growth and restructuring. As the baseball club continues to grow, the human resources team has also adapted to ensure all departments are maximizing their efforts to recruit and retain the top talent in the industry. Further, Castro has overseen the department as it remains keenly focused on fostering a strong culture that sets the context for everything the Club does. Castro joined the Brewers in 2018 with more than 20 years of experience in human resources from Marquette University and Goodwill. Matt Lehmann has grown his career with the Brewers after starting in 2007 in a coordinator position and rising to a leadership role within the operations team, most recently as Senior Director of Event Services. Entering his 17th season in 2024, Lehmann is responsible for all gameday and large-scale event operations, including oversight of the Event Services Department as well as the warehouse and mailroom operations. As vice president – business analytics for the Milwaukee Brewers, Mark Schlifske will work to optimize net revenue and grow the influence and impact of data analytics within the business operations. Schlifske returns to the Brewers, where he was previously an analyst and senior manager of strategy and analytics for the organization from 2015-2017. He then held several director positions in both strategy and business operations for Catch Co. and Motive Technologies respectively, with his most recent role coming as a founder-partner of Endurance Companies, a company that developed medical imaging software.
