Brewers Select Infielder Trey Ebel in First Round of 2026 First-Year Player Draft

PHILADELPHIA – The Milwaukee Brewers selected Corona High School (CA) infielder Trey Ebel with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 First-Year Player Draft. The announcement was made by Vice President of Amateur Acquisition Tod Johnson.

Ebel, 17, is the brother of Brewers prospect Brady Ebel, who was selected No. 32 overall by Milwaukee in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft. He is the son of Los Angeles Dodgers third-base coach Dino Ebel.

Ebel batted .417/.496/.796 (45-for-108) with 10 doubles, 2 triples, 9 HR, 47 RBI, 37 runs in 31 games as a senior at Corona High School in 2026. He is committed to Texas A&M University.

Milwaukee will round out the first day of the 2026 First-Year Player Draft tonight by selecting 66th (second round), 102nd (third round) and 130th (fourth round) overall on Saturday.

The First-Year Player Draft resumes tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. CT with rounds 5-20 exclusively on MLB.com.
