Be there as “The Man” takes his permanent place in Phillies history! Six-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger Award winner Chase Utley will receive one of the organization’s highest honors as he becomes the 51st person to be inducted into the prestigious Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame, and just the third player from the 2008 World Series championship team to earn the distinction. Ceremony highlights include:
- A red-carpet rollout for Phillies Wall of Famers as they take the field to honor No. 26, with festivities emceed by broadcaster Tom McCarthy and PA announcer Dan Baker. Special guests and longtime teammates from Utley’s incredible career will also be in attendance, including fellow 2008 World Series champions Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins.
- A special performance by the All City Orchestra Summer Academy (ACOSA), before Utley addresses the crowd. Plus, the official unveiling of Utley’s commemorative plaque on the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame, a tradition that began in 1978 at Veterans Stadium.
- The presentation of Utley’s Phillies Wall of Fame ring by managing partner and CEO John Middleton, all before fans have the chance to salute “The Man” during a victory lap around the warning track.
About Chase Utley: A crucial member of one of the greatest runs in the team’s 143-year history, Utley helped win five straight division titles, two National League pennants and a World Series championship from 2007 to 2011. A first-round draft pick in 2000, Utley spent 13 years with the Phillies and slashed .282/.366/.481 in 1,551 games for the club. In addition to being selected to six All-Star teams (all as a starter) and being a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, he ranks among the franchise’s top 10 all-time list in games, at-bats, runs, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, total bases, extra-base hits, walks and hit by pitches. Utley also played in 46 career postseason games for the Phillies and hit five home runs alone in the 2009 World Series, tying Reggie Jackson’s record for most home runs in a single Fall Classic. His career seven World Series home runs also remain the most by any second baseman.
More Highlights:
A ceremonial first pitch by a Challenged Athletes Foundation representative, on behalf of Toyota.
End of Third Inning, Alumni Base Change: Former Phillies will have the honor of changing the bases.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 – 1:35 p.m. game; Gate openings: 3B/LF – 11:05 a.m., all other gates – 12:05 p.m.; Broadcast: NBC Sports Philadelphia.
12:50 p.m., Toyota Phillies Alumni Day: Legends Take the Field! Plus, Ceremonial First Pitch Inspired by Field of Dreams
Live on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Be on the lookout prior to the game for photo opportunities with alumni around the ballpark.
- Arrive to the ballpark early as more than 60 former players take the field. Participants include Hall of Famers, Wall of Famers, and World Series and NL champions, spanning 65 years of history from 1960 to the present day.
- The on-field ceremony will also feature a special tribute inspired by the upcoming MLB at Field of Dreams game, as the Phillies honor four former players who reached the major leagues, wore a Phillies uniform and were active on the club's roster, but never appeared in a regular-season game. Similar to the memorable Moonlight Graham storyline from the iconic film, Tim Gradoville (catcher, 2006), Tim Lahey (pitcher, 2008), Jeff Singer (pitcher, 2022) and Will Toffey (infielder, 2022) will finally take the field in front of Phillies fans as part of a ceremonial first pitch.
More Highlights:
- A ceremonial first pitch by a Big Brothers Big Sisters representative, on behalf of Toyota.
- End of Third Inning, Alumni Base Change: Former Phillies will have the honor of changing the bases.
OTHER WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS
In honor of the festivities, there will also be a Phillies Charities, Inc. Alumni Auction at phillies.com/auctions, giving fans the chance to bid on signed memorabilia from legends until August 13. In addition, starting August 7, new and limited-edition merchandise celebrating Chase Utley will be available at the New Era Phillies Team Store, along with a commemorative Chase Utley souvenir cup at concession stands.
