OF Nick Martini Claimed off Waivers by San Diego

OAKLAND, Calif. – Outfielder Nick Martini was claimed off waivers by the San Diego Padres, the Oakland A’s announced today. Martini was designated for assignment on Monday when Seth Brown was added to the roster.

Martini had two stints with the A’s this year and went 1-for-11 (.091) with a home run and two RBI in six games. He also hit .328 with eight home runs and 42 RBI in 70 games with Triple-A Las Vegas. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter signed a minor league deal with Oakland following the 2017 season and batted .296 in 55 games with the A’s in his Major League debut last year.
