Pirates Homestand Highlights – Friday, July 22 – Sunday, July 24
The Pirates return to PNC Park following the All-Star Break for a brief three-game weekend homestand against the Miami Marlins. The weekend will be jam packed with fan engagement initiatives.
Friday, July 22, 2022 – Marlins vs. Pirates (7:05 p.m.)
• Christmas in July: The Pirates are hosting their first ever holiday themed Christmas in July night featuring appearances from Santa Claus, live reindeer, Christmas décor, special in-game features and more. In addition, the first 20,000 fans will receive an ugly sweater t-shirt presented by Bowser.
• Miller Lite Happy Hour: Fans who arrive early for Christmas in July can enjoy the Miller Lite Happy Hour in the Crow’s Nest featuring drink specials, live music and more from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 23, 2022 – Marlins vs. Pirates (7:05 p.m.)
• Pitch for Hope: The Women’s Baseball Clinc will held Saturday prior to the Marlins game. Registration includes morning on-field clinic with Pirates Coaches, catered lunch, a commemorative gift and a Pirates game ticket. Guest tickets are available as well and include entry to watch the on-field clinic, a catered lunch and game ticket.
• Gaming Knight: The Pittsburgh Pirates are teaming up with the Pittsburgh Knights for a fun and exclusive Rocket League tournament hosted at PNC Park, presented by Zenni Gaming. This first-time tournament will offer a chance for the winner to be recognized in-game and win $1000 worth of prizes. Tickets include registration fee, upper bleacher seats and access to tournament viewing for friends and family. Fans can also elect to add on a co-branded Knights and Pirates hat.
• Pirates Beach Towel presented by Sheetz: The first 20,000 fans will receive a custom-designed Pirates Beach Towel.
Sunday, July 24, 2022 – Marlins vs. Pirates (1:35 p.m.)
• Pilates Day: In partnership with AHN Chill Project, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a pregame, on-field Pilates session as part of a special ticket package. Tickets include the Pilates Class on the field, Brunch held in the Left Field Lounge and a complimentary Pirates branded stretch band. Each ticket includes a donation to the AHN Chill Project, which provides a mindfulness-informed and preventative school-based behavioral health program serving students, staff and families.
• Kids Days + Kids Pierogy Figurines Giveaway: Get to Federal Street early to enjoy the Family Fun Zone with fun and activities for the whole family. Enjoy balloon artists, face painters, inflatables and more. In addition, all kids 14 & younger will receive Pierogy Figurines of Oliver Onion and Bacon Burt, presented by Mrs. T’s Pierogies.
• Gymnastics Day: Gymnasts from across Western Pennsylvania will come together for a fun day at the ballpark. Look closely during pregame ceremonies and you’ll see talented young gymnasts battling out a handstand competition on the field.
• Quecreek Mine 20th Anniversary: July 24 to 29 marks the 20th anniversary of the Quecreek Mine rescue in Somerset, PA. The Pirates will recognize and honor the nine survivors on the field pregame.
• Celebrity Care Fest extends to PNC Park: This weekend HM3 and the Pirates, alongside the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Steelers, will host Celebrity Care Fest. As part of the Celebrity Care Fest, there is a Unity and Equality Dinner on Friday Night where two women will be honored for their contributions in promoting unity and equality throughout the world. On Sunday, July 24 they will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Pirates game.
The Pirates are proud to welcome the Award-Winning Actress, Artist, Philanthropist and co-founder of the Open Hearts Foundation, a charity inspired by the Open Hearts Philosophy – Ms. Jane Seymour! Joining Ms. Seymour for the first pitch is international civil rights leader Xernona Clayton. Ms. Clayton was instrumental in the development of the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame, an organization developed to honor the achievements of African Americans and civil rights advocates around the world.
Monday, July 25, 2022 & Tuesday, July 26, 2022 – Pirates RBI Championships at PNC Park
• In partnership with Citisports, the Pirates will host eight championship games over two days at PNC Park for teams who are part of the Pirates RBI League. RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) is an MLB youth baseball and softball program aimed at increasing participation in baseball and softball among inner city youth. PNC Park will be open to the public for games on Monday and Tuesday, at no cost. All fans interested in attending can enter through PNC Park’s Home Plate Gate on Monday and Legacy Square Gate on Tuesday, beginning at 7:45 a.m. Select concessions will be available during both days.
