Pirates Homestand Highlights Tuesday, September 24-Sunday, September 29, 2019

The Pirates return to PNC Park for the 13th and final homestand of the season, a six-game stay beginning with a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs and a weekend series with the Cincinnati Reds.

This homestand is highlighted by the Pirates celebration of beloved Pittsburgh Pirate, Steve Blass. The Club’s long-time broadcaster and 1971 World Series hero will retire from the broadcast booth at the conclusion of the 2019 season, his 60th season as a member of the organization.

Tuesday, September 24, 2019 -- Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs (7:05 p.m.)

· Row of the Game: Tonight, one lucky row will be chosen to receive $25 Pirates gift cards, courtesy of PNC Bank.

· Pup Night: Fans can enjoy Bucco baseball with their pooch as the Pirates present the final of the 2019 Pup Nights at PNC Park. Each ticket package (1 person & 1 dog) costs just $36 with additional human tickets available for $36 each. · Pirates Play Ball Team of the Game: The Pirates continue the season-long initiative honoring a youth baseball/softball team of the game during special home games throughout 2019. Tonight, the Pirates will honor Foundations Baseball as the Play Ball Team of the Game, presented by Nike. Foundations Baseball is a program in Wheeling, WV, for kids 6-10 designed to teach the true fundamentals of baseball and to build a passion for the game.

· 50/50 Raffle: Today’s Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will benefit the Veterans Leadership Program.

· Zambelli Fireworks: Following the game, fans are encouraged to stay in their seats for a special Zambelli Fireworks display, Presented by Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key - Florida's West Coast.

· Steve Blass Pregame: Tonight, Steve Blass will be honored in a pregame on-field ceremony on Steve Blass Day at PNC Park. The long-time Pirates broadcaster and 1971 World Series hero will retire from the broadcast booth at the conclusion of the 2019 season, his 60th season as a member of the organization.

· Two of Steve: Tonight, the first 20,000 fans with paid admission to PNC Park will receive a Steve Blass dual player/broadcaster bobblehead, presented by Guardian Protection.

· Memorabilia Available: Special items from tonight’s game will be available at the Hunt Auction Kiosk, located behind section 125 on the Main Concourse of PNC Park.

· Season Ticket Holder Carnival: Tonight, on Federal Street Season Ticket Holders who have renewed their 2020 plans are invited to take part in a special Season Ticket Holder carnival. The carnival includes food, games, prizes, alumni autographs and more.

· Project 34 Day: Today, Pirates Charities and Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams and his wife Jackie, through their Project 34 initiative, will host area patients who suffer from spinal cord injuries, along with their families, for a game at PNC Park. The group will enjoy Pirates batting practice as well as the game from a Pirates World Series Suite. In addition, the Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle will benefit Project 34, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Williams to positively impact the lives of those living with a spinal cord injury by providing necessary medical equipment, assistive devices, and aiding in the cost for physical therapy. Trevor was inspired by the journey of Cory Hahn, a dear friend, former roommate and teammate who is living with a spinal cord injury.

· Happy Hour: Tonight, the Pirates will host a special Happy Hour, presented by Jim Beam, in the Jim Beam Left Field Lounge from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fans can visit the area for discounted Jim Beam drinks, live music and more.

Sunday, September 29, 2019 -- Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (3:05 p.m.)

*Fan Appreciation Day*

· Fan Appreciation Day: Throughout today’s game, prizes will be given out to select ticket holders as part of the Pirates Fan Appreciation Day. Prizes include gift cards, 2020 Pirates season tickets and more. In addition, the Pirates will be announcing seat locations of fans throughout the game who have been chosen for the opportunity to go onto the field post-game and receive a game-worn jersey autographed by a Pirates player.

· Kids Day: Come down early and join the fun as the Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lined up outside PNC Park will be inflatable rides, baseball games, face painting, information about the Bucaroos Kids Club, presented by Chick-fil-A, and more.

· Kids Backpack: Today, all kids 14 and under will receive a free Kids Pirates backpack, presented by Chevron and the Children's Museum.

· Kids Run the Bases: Kids attending today’s game are invited to stick around after to run the bases on the field at PNC Park with the Kids Run the Bases, presented by Rivendale Farms.

· Scout Day: Today, we join the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highlands and surrounding councils to celebrate Scout Day at PNC Park. Each ticket purchased through pirates.com/scouts includes Pirates Boy Scout cap and $5 in Loaded Value - good for concessions & merchandise on the day of the game. The first 1,000 Boy Scouts and Scout Leaders to purchase tickets will have the opportunity to go on the field at PNC Park to be recognized during a special pregame warning track salute.
