RANGERS ANNOUNCE 26-MAN ROSTER FOR 2023 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Houston, Texas – The Texas Rangers today announced the club’s 2023 American League Championship Series roster for the best-of-seven postseason series against the Houston Astros.
The Rangers’ only changes from the club’s American League Division Series roster: right-handed pitchers Jon Gray and Max Scherzer added; left-handed pitcher Brock Burke and right-handed pitcher Matt Bush removed.
Game 1 of the series is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. CT tonight, with the national television broadcast airing on FOX. The series’ first two games will be played in Houston on Sunday and Monday, while Games 3-4-5 (if necessary) will take place in Arlington from Wednesday through Friday. The series’ potential Games 6-7 would be played in Houston on October 22-23.
The Rangers have won 5 straight games to open the 2023 postseason, taking the American League Wild Card Series vs. Tampa Bay (2-0) and the American League Division Series vs. Baltimore (3-0). This winner of this Texas/Houston ALCS series will advance to play the winner of the Arizona/Philadelphia National League Championship Series in the 2023 World Series beginning on October 27. If the Rangers win this year’s ALCS vs. Houston, the club will have home-field advantage and host World Series Game 1 in Arlington.
