Red Sox announce revised 2022 regular season schedule; tickets for Fenway Park home opener on sale tomorrow
BOSTON, MA – In conjunction with Major League Baseball, the Red Sox today released a revised schedule for the 2022 regular season and announced that tickets for the April 15 home opener at Fenway Park will go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, at 10 a.m. on redsox.com/tickets. Mastercard is the preferred payment of the Boston Red Sox.
Under the revised schedule, the regular season has been extended by three days and has the Red Sox closing the regular season at home in a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays October 3-5 (originally scheduled for March 31-April 3). The series against the Baltimore Orioles, originally scheduled for April 4-6, will take place throughout the season on two mutual off-days, August 11 and September 26, and as a doubleheader on May 28. Season ticket holders who originally had these games as part of their plans will be contacted by the Red Sox ticket office in the coming days.
Fenway Park’s home opener is scheduled for a traditional 2:05 p.m. start on April 15. In addition to celebrating the start of the baseball season in Boston, April 15 also marks One Boston Day and the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier.
Single game tickets for April and May games at Fenway Park are on sale now at redsox.com/tickets. Available games include Patriot’s Day on Monday, April 18, against the Minnesota Twins when the Red Sox will present a traditional 11:05 a.m. game, and for the 10th year in a row wear their “Boston” home jerseys. The team will don their yellow and blue City Connect jerseys on Saturday, April 16, and Sunday, April 17. A special City Connect “617” patch will be given away to fans before the game on April 16.
Presented by L.L.Bean, kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after three games this spring: Thursday, April 21, Sunday, May 8, and Sunday, May 22.
The team will be home for Memorial Day weekend and will play a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles May 27-30 and will close out the homestand with a two-game series against the Cincinnati Reds May 31-June 1, one of four National League teams that will make the trip to Fenway Park this season.
