Rosters announced for the 2026 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard
Rosters for the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game presented by Mastercard were unveiled earlier this evening on FOX’s MLB All-Star Game Selection Show presented by KONAMI eBaseballTM ahead of the network’s Baseball Night in America coverage of the St. Louis Cardinals visiting the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets visiting the Atlanta Braves.
MLB’s leading vote-getter Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers will be joined in the National League starting lineup by three of his Dodgers teammates in first baseman Freddie Freeman, third baseman Max Muncy and outfielder Andy Pages, along with second baseman Ozzie Albies of the Atlanta Braves; shortstop CJ Abrams of the Washington Nationals; catcher Drake Baldwin of the Braves; and outfielders Brandon Marsh of the host Philadelphia Phillies and Juan Soto of the New York Mets.
American League leading vote-getter Ernie Clement of the Toronto Blue Jays will be paired in the AL starting lineup with his teammate and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., along with third baseman Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays; shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals; catcher Shea Langeliers of the Athletics; outfielders Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels, Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees; and designated hitter Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros.
In addition to the starters who were elected by the fans across two phases of the 2026 KONAMI eBaseballTM MLB All-Star Ballot, pitchers and reserve players were named to the All-Star Game roster by the Player Ballot – a vote of the players, managers and coaches – and by Major League Baseball. In making its selections as the last step in the process, MLB has ensured that each of the 30 Major League Clubs will be represented at the Midsummer Classic.
AL position players who are invited to the 2026 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard as a result of Player Balloting are catcher Dillon Dingler of the Detroit Tigers; first baseman Nick Kurtz of the Athletics; second baseman Travis Bazzana of the Cleveland Guardians; third baseman Miguel Vargas of the Chicago White Sox; shortstop Kevin McGonigle of the Detroit Tigers; outfielders Cody Bellinger of the Yankees, Riley Greene of the Tigers and Randy Arozarena of the Seattle Mariners; and designated hitter Yandy Díaz of the Rays.
AL pitchers who have made the Midsummer Classic as a result of the Player Ballot include starters Cam Schlittler of the Yankees; Dylan Cease of the Blue Jays; Drew Rasmussen of the Rays; Parker Messick of the Guardians; and Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins. The relievers who are All-Stars via the Player Ballot are Louis Varland of the Blue Jays; Cade Smith of the Guardians; and Aroldis Chapman of the Boston Red Sox.
Major League Baseball had an additional six selections to fill out the remainder of the AL roster, with two of the six picks being used to represent the Clubs that did not have an All-Star after the fan and player balloting processes. The four pitchers chosen include Bryan Baker of the Rays; Jacob Latz of the Texas Rangers; Ranger Suarez of the Red Sox; and Michael Wacha of the Royals. The two position players among MLB selections are first baseman Ben Rice of the Yankees and catcher Adley Rutschmanof the Baltimore Orioles.
NL position players who are invited to the 96th Midsummer Classic as a result of Player Balloting are catcher William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers; first baseman Matt Olson of the Braves; second baseman Luis Arraez of the San Francisco Giants; shortstop Otto Lopez of the Miami Marlins; third baseman Sal Stewart of the Cincinnati Reds; outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs, Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks and James Wood of the Nationals; and designated hitter Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies.
NL pitchers who have made the 2026 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard as a result of the Player Ballot include starters Jacob Misiorowski of the Brewers; Cristopher Sánchez of the Phillies; Chris Sale of the Braves; Chase Burns of the Reds; and Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The relievers who are All-Stars via the Player Ballot are Mason Miller of the San Diego Padres; Jhoan Duran of the Phillies; and Raisel Iglesias of the Braves.
MLB had six selections to fill out the remainder of the NL roster, with two of the six picks being used to represent the Clubs that did not have an All-Star after the fan and player balloting processes. The four pitchers selected include Max Meyer of the Marlins; Eduardo Rodriguez of the Diamondbacks; Logan Webb of the Giants; and Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers. The two position players selected are catcher Hunter Goodman of the Colorado Rockies and outfielder Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals. Additionally, Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. has named Bryce Harper of the host Phillies to the NL All-Star Team as a “Legend Pick,” now making the two-time MVP a nine-time All-Star.
2026 American League All-Star Starters
- Shea Langeliers, C (ATH): Picks up his first All-Star selection and becomes the first A’s catcher to win a fan-elected starting assignment since Terry Steinbach won consecutive fan elections in 1988-89.
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 1B (TOR): Now a six-time All-Star, the 2021 MLB leader in fan voting, earns his third straight fan election and his fifth in six seasons. Guerrero is now the first Blue Jays player with five fan elections, eclipsing the four fan elections by José Bautista and Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar. The third straight fan election by Guerrero marks the first such accomplishment by an AL first baseman since Hall of Famer Frank Thomas (1994-96).
- Ernie Clement, 2B (TOR): Will make his first trip to the Midsummer Classic after leading the AL in fan balloting during Phase 1 to claim the starting assignment. The 30-year-old is the first Blue Jays player to lead the AL in voting since Guerrero led all of Baseball in 2021. Additionally, Clement is now Toronto’s first fan-elected second baseman since Marcus Semien in 2021.
- Junior Caminero, 3B (TB): An All-Star for a second consecutive season, Caminero garners his first fan election and joins Evan Longoria (2009-10) as the only third basemen in Rays’ history to earn a fan election. Caminero, who turns 23 years old tomorrow, becomes just the eighth different Rays player in history to win a fan-elected start, joining Randy Arozarena, Jose Canseco, Carl Crawford, Yandy Díaz, Corey Dickerson, Longoria and Wilson Ramos.
- Bobby Witt Jr., SS (KC): The 2024 AL MVP runner-up receives his third consecutive All-Star selection and his first fan election. He joins Fred Patek (1978) and Alcides Escobar (2015) as the only Royals to win fan elections at shortstop.
- Mike Trout, OF (LAA): The three-time MVP, who grew up less than 50 miles from Philadelphia in Millville, New Jersey, is now a 12-time All-Star after earning his 11th career fan election. He joins Cal Ripken Jr. (17); Rod Carew (15); Ken Griffey Jr. (13); Barry Bonds (12); Alex Rodriguez (12); Iván Rodríguez (12); Ozzie Smith (12); George Brett (11); Tony Gwynn (11); Reggie Jackson (11); and Mike Piazza (11) as the only players with at least 11 fan elections. Additionally, Trout, who was the 2019 AL leading vote-getter, becomes just the third player in AL history to earn at least 11 fan elections with one Club, joining Ripken (BAL, 17) and Brett (KC, 11).
- Byron Buxton, OF (MIN): Now a three-time All-Star, Buxton earns his first fan-elected starting assignment and the first for a Twins outfielder since Torii Hunter in 2002. The 2017 Rawlings AL Platinum Glove Award Winner is just the 10th different Twins player to earn a fan-elected start, joining Hall of Famer Rod Carew (9); Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett (6); Hall of Famer Joe Mauer (4); Hunter (1); Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew (1); Justin Morneau (1); Hall of Famer Tony Oliva (1); Jorge Polanco (1); and Roy Smalley (1).
- Aaron Judge, OF (NYY): With his eighth career All-Star selection and eighth career fan election, the three-time AL MVP joins Hall of Famer Derek Jeter (9) as the only players in franchise history with as many as eight fan elections.
- Yordan Alvarez, DH (HOU): Earns his fourth All-Star selection and second fan election after winning the fan-elected starting assignment at designated hitter in 2024. The 2019 AL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year is the first Astros player to win multiple fan elections at DH and is now just the third Astros player overall with multiple fan elections since Houston moved to the AL in 2013, joining his teammate Jose Altuve (6) and former teammate George Springer (2).
2026 National League All-Star Starters
- Drake Baldwin, C (ATL): The 2025 NL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year will make his first trip to the All-Star Game and becomes the fourth Braves backstop to win a fan election, joining Javy Lopez (2003); Brian McCann (2011); and Sean Murphy (2023). Additionally, Baldwin’s election marks the first for a reigning NL Rookie of the Year since his teammate Ronald Acuña Jr. in 2019. The 2026 All-Star Game will be the fourth consecutive Midsummer Classic to feature a reigning Rookie of the Year, following Paul Skenes (2024 NL ROY; 2025 All-Star); Gunnar Henderson (2023 AL ROY; 2024 All-Star); and Julio Rodríguez (2022 AL ROY; 2023 All-Star).
- Freddie Freeman, 1B (LAD): Now a 10-time All-Star, the 2020 NL MVP gains his sixth fan-elected starting assignment after winning six of the last eight fan elections (2018-21, 2023, 2025-26). Freeman was already the last NL first baseman to win consecutive fan elections after doing so in three straight years with Atlanta (2018-21), and prior to that, the last to accomplish the feat was Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt (2014-15). Freeman is already one of only two Dodgers first basemen to win a fan election along with Steve Garvey (1974-80).
- Ozzie Albies, 2B (ATL): Earns his fourth All-Star selection and picks up his first fan election to become the third Atlanta second baseman to garner the honor along with Marcus Giles (2003) and Dan Uggla (2012).
- Max Muncy, 3B (LAD): Will make his third trip to the Midsummer Classic and joins Ron Cey (1974-75, 1977) as the only Dodgers third baseman to win a fan election.
- CJ Abrams, SS (WSH): An NL All-Star in 2024, Abrams receives his first fan-elected starting assignment and joins Bryce Harper (5), Daniel Murphy (1), Alfonso Soriano (1) and Ryan Zimmerman (1) as the only players in Nationals’ history (since 2005) to win a fan election. Abrams is the first Nationals player to win a fan election since Harper in 2018.
- Brandon Marsh, OF (PHI): Draws his first All-Star Game selection and becomes the first Phillies outfielder to pick up a fan-elected starting assignment since Raul Ibañez in 2009.
- Juan Soto, OF (NYM): Now a five-time All-Star, Soto receives his second career fan election and first in the NL after nabbing his first fan-elected starting assignment in the AL in 2024. Soto is the first Mets outfielder to win a fan election since Yoenis Céspedes in 2016.
- Andy Pages, OF (LAD): Earns his first career trip to the Midsummer Classic and gives the Dodgers a fan-elected starting outfielder for the third time in five years following fan elections by Mookie Betts in 2022-23.
- Shohei Ohtani, DH (LAD): The four-time unanimous MVP led the Majors in Phase 1 of fan balloting for the first time in his career. The two-way superstar, who led the AL in voting in 2023 and led the NL in voting in 2025, became the third Dodgers player to lead all Major Leaguers since All-Star balloting was returned to the fans in 1970, joining Davey Lopes (1980) and Cody Bellinger (2019). Ohtani, who will make his sixth trip to the Midsummer Classic and his sixth consecutive fan-elected start at designated hitter (2021-23 in the AL; 2024-26 in the NL), had already been the first player ever to win as many as four straight fan elections at the position. The Dodgers have now claimed the starting designated hitter spot in the NL lineup in four straight seasons as Ohtani’s three consecutive starts follow the fan-elected start by J.D. Martinez in 2023.
Overall, 13 different Major League clubs are represented among the 18 positional starters, including eight different clubs in the AL and five different clubs in the NL. The Dodgers are sending a Major League-best four starters to the Midsummer Classic, followed by the Blue Jays and the Braves, who will each have two starters. The AL and NL starters combine for eight internationally born players (44.4%), spanning five countries and territories outside the 50 United States.
Additional highlights of the All-Star Game starters include:
- The four fan elections for the reigning World Champion Dodgers marks their most in a single season since the team also had four fan-elected starters for the 1980 Midsummer Classic (Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Reggie Smith).
- With Judge claiming a starting position, the Yankees have had at least one player win a fan election for nine consecutive All-Star Games, representing the longest current streak in the Majors.
- Langeliers’ fan election at catcher gives the A’s a fan-elected starter in consecutive years for the first time since 1992, which marked the last of a five-year run in which the A’s had at least one winner of a fan election. Following his teammate Jacob Wilson’s fan election at shortstop in 2025, the starting assignment for Langeliers marks just the fourth for an Athletics player since 1993, also joining first baseman Jason Giambi (2000) and third baseman Josh Donaldson (2014).
- With elections by Witt at shortstop and Langeliers behind the plate, the AL has now had nine consecutive different fan-elected starting shortstop and eight straight different fan-elected catchers.
Overall, the Braves, Dodgers and Phillies will send a Major League-high five players to the Midsummer Classic while a trio of AL East teams – the Blue Jays, Rays and Yankees – will send an AL-high four players to Philadelphia. With their five All-Stars, the Dodgers now have at least five players headed to the All-Star Game for the seventh consecutive time. With Philadelphia’s five All-Stars, it marks the fifth consecutive Midsummer Classic in which the host club has at least three All-Stars.
Detroit’s Kevin McGonigle, who is the youngest player on either roster at 21 years old, is one of four rookies headed to Philadelphia. He is joined by Cincinnati’s Sal Stewart, who at 22 years old is the youngest All-Star on the NL side, and Cleveland’s duo of Travis Bazzana and Parker Messick. McGonigle is the fifth rookie in Tigers history to earn an All-Star nod and the first since Matt Nokes in 1987; Stewart is the seventh rookie in Reds history to make the Midsummer Classic, the first since Scott Williamson in 1999, and the first position player since Chris Sabo in 1988; and Bazzana and Messick are just the fourth and fifth rookies in Cleveland history to appear on an All-Star roster, joining pitcher Herb Score in 1955; pitcher Dick Stigman in 1960; and catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. in 1990. According to Elias, Cleveland becomes just the fifth team in history to send multiple rookies to the All-Star Game together, joining the 1951 White Sox (Jim Busby and Minnie Minoso); the 1960 Orioles (Chuck Estrada, Jim Gentile and Ron Hansen); the 2008 Cubs (Kosuke Fukudome and Geovany Soto); and the 2014 Yankees (Dellin Betances and Masahiro Tanaka).
The quartet of rookie All-Stars are part of a group of 26 players (15 AL, 11 NL) making their first trip to the Midsummer Classic. Elias also notes that this marks the first time in All-Star history that at least four rookies will be sent to the Midsummer Classic three times in a four-year stretch (also four rookies in 2023 and 2024). Additionally, the three rookies on the AL roster are its most since 2014 (José Abreu, Betances and Tanaka).
With the selections of Kurtz in the AL and Baldwin in the NL, this marks the fourth straight All-Star Game to feature at least one reigning Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year, following All-Star nods for Julio Rodríguez in 2023, Gunnar Henderson in 2024 and Paul Skenes in 2025. Elias notes that this will be the ninth Midsummer Classic to feature both reigning Rookie of the Year winners and the first since 2017 (Corey Seager and Michael Fulmer).
The Midsummer Classic rosters feature 21 players age 26-or-younger, including 12 such players on the NL side and nine on the AL squad. In addition, the rosters contain 11 players age 24-or-younger, including seven on the NL roster and four on the AL side.
Trout is the senior-most All-Star with 12 career selections. He is followed by the 37-year-old Sale, the NL’s eldest player, and Freeman (10 each); the 38-year-old Chapman, the game’s eldest player overall, and Harper (nine each); Judge (eight); Guerrero and Ohtani (six); and Soto (five). Freeman was named to the Midsummer Classic for an eighth consecutive time and is followed by Guerrero, Judge and Ohtani (sixth straight each).
There are 22 internationally born players on the All-Star rosters (33.8%), including 12 on the NL roster and 10 on the AL roster. The list features players from Cuba (7); the Dominican Republic (5); Venezuela (4); Canada (2); Japan (2); Australia (1); and Curaçao (1). Bazzana, a native of Hornsby, Australia, becomes just the fourth-ever native of Australia to make the Midsummer Classic, joining Grant Balfour (2013); Liam Hendriks (2019, 2021-22); and Dave Nilsson (1999).
Fans will once again have the opportunity to participate in the official voting for the Ted Williams All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award. During the Midsummer Classic, fans can vote exclusively at MLB.com and the 30 Club sites – online or via their mobile devices – with the 2026 All-Star Game MLB.com MVP Vote, and their collective voice will represent 20 percent of the official vote determining this year’s recipient of the Arch Ward Trophy.
