White Sox return Trayce Thompson from injury rehabilitation assignment and reinstate him from the injured list
Arlington, TEXAS -- Prior to today’s series finale at the Texas Rangers, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder Trayce Thompson from his injury rehabilitation assignment with Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list.
Thompson, who appeared in two games with Charlotte, was acquired with right-handers Nick Nastrini and Jordan Leasure from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for right-handers Joe Kelly and Lance Lynn on July 28. He was placed on the injured list on June 4 with a strained left oblique. Thompson hit .155/.310/.366 (11-72) with five home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored over 36 games with the Dodgers this season.
Thompson will wear uniform No. 43. He appeared in a combined 92 games with the White Sox in 2015 and 2018, and originally was selected by the club in the second round of the 2009 draft.
Following the move, the White Sox 40-man roster increases to 38.
