Red Sox to begin 2019 spring training season on February 22 at Jetblue park

The Boston Red Sox today announced that the 2019 Spring Training exhibition season begins February 22 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Lee County, FL. The team will play a total of 17 home games, including 16 Grapefruit League games and a game against the Northeastern University Huskies. The club will close out the Spring Training season at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona with a two-game series against the Chicago Cubs. Red Sox Spring Training is presented by CVS Health.
Beginning Saturday, December 1, fans can purchase tickets for all home games at JetBlue Park starting at 10 a.m. at the Fenway South Complex and on redsox.com. Fans needing ADA accessible seating or those who may not have a computer may call 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644. Mastercard is the preferred payment of the Boston Red Sox.
For the 17th consecutive year, the team opens its exhibition season Friday, February 22, with its game against the Northeastern University Huskies. The Grapefruit League schedule launches the following day at JetBlue Park on Saturday, February 23, against their American League East rival New York Yankees. The matchup is the first of two contests against the Yankees, with the Red Sox traveling to George M. Steinbrenner Field on Friday, March 15.
Other division matchups include four games versus the Baltimore Orioles, four against the Tampa Bay Rays, and two against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox will play the most games against their Lee County Commissioners Cup rival, the Minnesota Twins. The Red Sox host the Twins on Sunday, February 24, at JetBlue Park, the first of seven contests between the cross-town foes.
Before heading to Seattle to face the Mariners for Opening Day of the 2019 regular season, the Red Sox will make a stop in Mesa, Arizona to play a two-game exhibition series against the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park. This will be the second year in a row the two teams have played each other to conclude the Spring Training season.
