Twins place Jake Odorizzi on the Injured List

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi on the 10-day Injured List with a blister on his right middle finger, an injury he suffered last night vs. the Oakland Athletics. Odorizzi, who was named to the American League All-Star team this week, has gone 10-4 with a 3.15 ERA (88.2 IP, 31 ER), 30 walks, 96 strikeouts and a .214 opponent batting average in 17 starts.

To replace Odorizzi on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Zack Littell from Triple-A Rochester. Littell, who will be making his third stint with the Twins this season, has appeared in five games out of the bullpen with four of his five outings being scoreless appearances. Littell has appeared in 13 games (seven starts) for Rochester posting a 4.27 ERA (52.2 IP, 25 ER) with 60 strikeouts and 19 walks this season.
