What's happening this week: Phillies-Reds series, August 22-25

On Monday, August 22, the Phillies kick off a four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a look at the promotions and fun surrounding the games, as well as other know-before-you-go information.

1) The series starts with PEANUTSTM Night on Monday’s 7:05 p.m. game.

2) The Phillies will host their 12th annual German Heritage Night at Tuesday’s 7:05 p.m. game.

3) Before Wednesday’s 7:05 p.m. game, stop by The Yard in right field for the PAL Night Celebrity Home Run Derby, which takes place until 6:00 p.m.

  1. Local television, radio and TV celebrities will be taking part, as well as 1993 National League Champion Mickey Morandini. The event will conclude with a check presentation to support efforts of the Philadelphia Police Athletic League.
  2. In addition, Officer Bill Schneider of the Tacony PAL Center will be honored as that night’s Rothman Hometown Hero and change the base at the end of the sixth inning. Plus, PAL kids and officers will dance with the Phillie Phanatic at the end of the seventh inning.
  3. A portion of the gross proceeds of that night’s Phillies Charities, Inc. 50/50 drawing, presented by DraftKings, will benefit PAL.

4) Join the Phillies for the 20th annual Goya Latino Family Celebration at Thursday’s 7:05 p.m. game. Highlights include the on-field recognition of Philabundance and baseball great Ruben Amaro Sr.
