Health and Safety Guidelines

S.A.F.E. @ CBP

The Philadelphia Phillies have developed and implemented comprehensive COVID-19 specific policies and protocols for the safety of our fans, players, and staff. These policies for the Safety Around Fan Experience (S.A.F.E) have been developed in conjunction with MLB, the City of Philadelphia, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Requirements & Recommendations

Reduced Ballpark Capacity

Ballpark capacity will be reduced to meet state, local, MLB and CDC guidelines to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Not Feeling Well? Please Do Not Attend the Game

Guests SHOULD NOT come to the ballpark if they have COVID-19, COVID-19 symptoms, or know they have been exposed to COVID-19. If you are feeling sick, please stay home. Each ticket holder has agreed to the COVID-19 terms and conditions.

Social Distancing

Fans are required to practice social distancing of at least six feet inside and outside of Citizens Bank Park.

Face Coverings

Face coverings are required at all times, including in parking lots, while moving towards the ballpark, and inside the ballpark other than while actively eating or drinking (which should only occur when seated in your ticketed sections). Face coverings must cover nose and mouth.

Bag Policy

In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing bags to the ballpark. Only purses, medical bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park. Backpacks are no longer permitted. Approved bags (purses, medical bags and diaper bags) can be no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" and will be subject to inspection upon entry in accordance with Major League Baseball security regulations.

No Smoking

Smoking is prohibited within Citizens Bank Park.

Safety Training and Protocol

Ballpark staff working gamedays have completed training on CDC guidelines, PPE, and other COVID-19 practices and protocols. Ballpark staff complete a temperature check prior to entering the ballpark.


To help with COVID-19 contract tracing efforts, please visit to download the free COVID Alert PA app, the official mobile app of the PA Department of Health and opt-in to receive alerts if you have had a potential exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

COVID-19 Warning

You must follow all ballpark polices, including health and safety policies, and posted instructions while in the ballpark and on ballpark grounds.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the centers for disease control and prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By entering the ballpark and ballpark grounds, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Parking & Ballpark Entry


  • Unfortunately, tailgating is NOT permitted at this time.
  • We strongly recommend that ticket holders arriving at the ballpark by car, pre-purchase parking passes at time of ticket purchase.
  • We recommend parking in the parking lot closest to the gate that is notated on your game ticket.
  • Please show your mobile parking pass to a parking attendant when asked to do so. Please adhere to staff direction on where to park your vehicle within the lot.
  • Guests must wear masks in the parking lots and as they move towards the ballpark entrances.

Gate Entry

  • Your ticket will list a specific gate for entry that corresponds to the location of your seat within the ballpark.
  • Please immediately proceed to your designated gate upon exiting your vehicle.
  • Please leave all bags in your vehicle. (refer to new bag policy above.)
  • Please have your mobile ticket ready to be scanned at the gate.

Ingress and Egress

We are working to reduce congestion when entering and exiting Citizens Bank Park. Please use the ballpark entrance noted on your ticket to help alleviate congestion at each of the gates. All gates will be open for egress, including the Center Field, Right Field Gates, West Suite and Club Gates.

Seating & Ticketing

Mobile Ticketing

Ticketing will be 100% mobile to create a more secure and safer entry for our fans. For mobile ticketing information, please visit our Mobile Ticketing page.

Pod Seating

Fan seating will be grouped in “pods” to maintain distance between groups who are not known to one another. Fans must sit in the seats assigned to them.

Fan Safety


Ballpark staff will regularly disinfect surfaces including handrails, tables, and other areas. Every restroom will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to, during, and after each game.

Hand Sanitizing Stations

Numerous hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the ballpark. Fans and staff are encouraged to sanitize and wash their hands frequently.

Food and Beverage

Food handling and preparation will be in accordance with FDA Best Practices. A limited menu will be available, and all items will be pre-packaged. All condiments will be individually packaged, and utensils will be pre-packaged and disposable.

Proximity to Players

Fans will not be permitted within 12 feet of the dugouts and bullpen. The players are not allowed to have any direct contact with fans and are discouraged from signing autographs.
