Yes, yes, we know that you've seen baseball player standoffs -- usually done before the national anthem. One vs. one, one vs. five, even some that have lasted three innings.
But have you ever seen a player stand off against ... himself?

Well, that's not technically what this was. It was kind of like the baseball representation of that Spider-Man pointing meme.
Before World Baseball Classic's Pool A game on Sunday night between Panama and Canada, Panama's Logan Allen stood off against Canada's Logan Allen. Both are left-handed pitchers. Both are from Florida. Both have played for Cleveland (Panama's Logan Allen still does). And yes, if it wasn't already clear, both are named Logan Allen.
But that's where the similarities end.
Panama's Allen plays for the Central American country because his mom is Panamanian. He's a current starting pitcher for the Guardians.
Canada's Logan Allen plays for Canada because his father is Canadian. He was a reliever for Cleveland from 2019-'22, but has been out of the Majors since 2024.
Oh, and by the way, Logan Allen won the standoff. And Logan Allen also lost. Go figure.
