CHICAGO – Derek Hill’s pinch-hit home run with two outs in the eighth inning gave the White Sox a 6-5 victory over the Royals Tuesday night at Rate field, extending their winning streak to three straight.

Hill connected off Matt Strahm, who had retired the first two in the frame. It was Hill’s third career pinch-hit home run and made a winner of Seranthony Dominguez. The White Sox moved to 20-21 overall, sitting in second place all alone in the American League Central.

Trailing 2-0 in the fifth, the White Sox scored five off Royals starter Stephen Kolek, chasing him from the game. Chase Meidroth extended his hit streak to 11 games with his three-run homer to put the team ahead 5-2, following Drew Romo’s solo blast and Miguel Vargas’ run-scoring single.

Kansas City tied the game in the top of the sixth with three runs off Tyler Schweitzer. Erick Fedde started for the White Sox, allowing solo home runs to Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez in the first inning but nothing more over five.
