SAN DIEGO -- The Dodgers released pitcher Bud Norris on Wednesday.
Norris was designated for assignment Sept. 20 to make room on the roster for the return of Alex Wood from the disabled list.
Norris went 3-3 with a 6.54 ERA in nine starts and four relief appearances for the Dodgers after being acquired from Atlanta on June 30 with Dian Toscano and Alec Grosser for Minor League pitchers Phil Pfeifer and Caleb Dirks.
The Dodgers dealt for Norris the day before placing Clayton Kershaw on the disabled list with a herniated disk in his back.
