It's been how long?! Angels hold longest active streak since being no-hit

Baseball fans love to keep track of their favorite team's most recent no-hitter. But what about the last time they were the ones no-hit? That list usually isn't on the radar of most fans, but there are some impressive active streaks worth knowing.
We were reminded of this on Monday, when the Angels were almost no-hit by the Athletics' J.T. Ginn before they got a walk-off homer from Zach Neto. Had Ginn closed the deal, it would've been the first time in more than a quarter century that the Angels had been no-hit, the longest active streak in the Majors.
But as impressive as that streak is, it's nowhere near the all-time record of 50 seasons held by the Cubs from 1965-2015, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The next-longest streak without being no-hit belongs to the Yankees, who went 45 seasons from 1958-2003.
Top 5 longest spans between getting no-hit
--Cubs, 50 seasons (1965-2015)
--Yankees, 45 seasons (1958-2003)
--Pirates, 41 seasons (1971-2012)
--Cardinals, 41 seasons (1919-1960)
--Reds, 39 seasons (1971-2010)

So, the Angels and everyone else have a way to go before reaching truly historic territory. Here's a look at the last time each MLB team was no-hit during the regular season, ranked from longest ago to most recent.
Angels (Sept. 11, 1999)
Opponent: Twins (Eric Milton)
The lefty Milton walked two and struck out 13 as the Twins won 7-0. The Angels are the only team that hasn't been no-hit this century.

Weaver faced just two batters over the minimum as he walked one and struck out nine in the 9-0 win.

Bailey faced one over the minimum -- he walked the Giants' Gregor Blanco to lead off the seventh -- and fanned nine.
Tigers (Sept. 29, 2013)
Opponent: Marlins (Henderson Alvarez III)
On the season's final day, Alvarez struck out four batters and allowed just three baserunners on 99 pitches as he completed nine no-hit innings. Only problem? It was a 0-0 game going to the bottom of the ninth before the Marlins won 1-0 on a walk-off wild pitch, with Alvarez in the on-deck circle. It was the rare no-hitter -- and "Maddux" -- clinched by the offense.

Rockies (June 18, 2014)
Opponent: Dodgers (Clayton Kershaw)
Kershaw was about as close to perfect as he could be without throwing a perfect game. He faced one over the minimum in a career-high 15-strikeout performance.
Braves (Sept. 1, 2014)
Opponent: Phillies (Cole Hamels, Jake Diekman, Ken Giles, Jonathan Papelbon)
A Labor Day combo special. The Phillies won 7-0, meaning the foursome of Philly pitchers didn't even need Ben Revere's game-high five RBIs.
Marlins (Sept. 28, 2014)
Opponent: Nationals (Jordan Zimmermann)
On the last day of the regular season, Zimmermann faced one over the minimum, struck out 10 and sealed the no-no on a spectacular catch from Steven Souza Jr. in left field to end the 1-0 Nats win.

Mills struck out five, scattered three walks and threw 114 pitches as the Cubs routed Milwaukee, 12-0.
Mariners (May 18, 2021)
Opponent: Tigers (Spencer Turnbull)
Turnbull fanned nine, walked two and allowed a stolen base, but never let a runner past second base on his way to a 117-pitch gem.
Rangers (May 19, 2021)

Kluber struck out nine, walked one and narrowly missed a "Maddux" as he tossed 101 pitches to secure the no-no and a 2-0 Yankees win.
Dodgers (June 24, 2021)
Opponent: Cubs (Zach Davies, Ryan Tepera, Andrew Chafin, Craig Kimbrel)
It certainly isn't how you draw it up, but it counts all the same. Cubs pitchers walked eight batters -- including five from starter Davies -- but kept the hit column blank in a 4-0 win.
Padres (Aug. 14, 2021)
Opponent: D-backs (Tyler Gilbert)
Gilbert struck out five, walked three and faced two over the minimum as the D-backs cruised to a 7-0 win. It's the only complete game of Gilbert's career to date.
Phillies (April 29, 2022)
Opponent: Mets (Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodríguez, Seth Lugo, Edwin Díaz)
Mets pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts -- led by starter Tylor Megill's five -- and six walks and they used 159 pitches to retire 32 Phillies batters without allowing a hit.
NOTE: The Phillies were also no-hit in Game 4 of 2022 World Series vs. the Astros (Cristian Javier, Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero, Ryan Pressly).
Rays (May 10, 2022)
Opponent: Angels (Reid Detmers)
If there's such thing as a ho-hum no-hitter, Detmers' effort might qualify. He struck out just two batters and walked one, facing one over the minimum as the Angels won in a blowout, 12-0.

Opponent: Astros (Cristian Javier, Hector Neris, Ryan Pressly)

The second of two perfect games on this list. Germán was brilliant, striking out nine and throwing just 99 pitches for a perfect "Maddux" as the Yankees routed the A's, 11-0.

Guardians (Aug. 1, 2023)
Opponent: Astros (Framber Valdez)
Valdez nearly matched Germán's effort, striking out seven and allowing just one baserunner on a walk. He still faced the minimum thanks to a double play and, with just 93 pitches, earned a "Maddux" as a bonus.
Blue Jays (April 1, 2024)
Opponent: Astros (Ronel Blanco)
Blanco struck out seven and walked two, giving the Astros an impressive FOUR entries on this list (if you count the 2022 World Series no-no). It's the only complete game for Blanco to date.
Nationals (July 25, 2024)
Opponent: Padres (Dylan Cease)
Cease struck out nine and walked three, but still faced just one over the minimum thanks to a double play and a caught stealing. It's one of just three complete games for Cease so far in his career.
Reds (Aug. 2, 2024)
Opponent: Giants (Blake Snell)
Snell had it working in this game. He struck out 11 and walked three on his way to a 114-pitch masterpiece. To date, it's the only complete game of the two-time Cy Young winner's 11-year career.
Pirates (Sept. 4, 2024)
Opponent: Cubs (Shota Imanaga, Nate Pearson, Porter Hodge)
Imanaga was strong as the starter, recording seven strikeouts in seven innings to just two walks, despite having to pitch around three Cubs errors. Meanwhile, Pearson and Hodge were each perfect in their innings as the Cubs won, 12-0.
