Aug. 1: Cubs add Candelario, hold onto Belli, Stroman at Deadline
Coming out of the All-Star break, the Cubs were trending toward being one of this year's top Trade Deadline sellers, but the club has surged back into contention over the past two weeks.

Chicago not only ended up holding onto top trade chips such as Cody Bellinger and Marcus Stroman but also made a move to add third baseman Jeimer Candelario prior to the Deadline.

Stroman can opt out of the final year on his three-year, $71 million contract to test free agency this offseason.
