At Mariners games, you can get your food by the boatload ... literally
Ballpark food can come in many vessels, whether it’s a traditional tray, a bucket or novelty helmets. The Mariners are aiming for a much bolder choice of vessel for food this year.
On Tuesday, the Mariners announced that they are selling a new Washington State Ferries souvenir boat for various food options at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park this season. Available as an $8 upgrade to food options like nachos, chicken tenders and fries, fans can take home a novelty food vessel that is synonymous with the city of Seattle. Also included with the ferry are two sauce holders on each side.
According to the Mariners’ press release, the idea of the souvenir ferry is to celebrate 75 years of the Washington State Ferries system and 50 seasons of the Seattle Mariners. Ferries help transport people across Puget Sound and fans can also hear the ferry horn sound every time the Mariners score.
The Mariners and T-Mobile Park have always pushed the limits on innovative food options. Since 2017, the Mariners have sold toasted grasshoppers in four-ounce cups with a savory chili-lime salt seasoning. This ferry souvenir boat is just the latest and certainly not the last novelty food you’ll be able to buy at a Mariners game.
