2026 All-Star festivities

A lot has changed since Philadelphia last hosted the All-Star Game in 1996. Then, it was a Home Run Derby on Monday night and the game the next night.

The 96th Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, July 14, is the climax of an All-Star Week of fan events. It is the celebration of the semiquincentennial of American independence and follows suit from 1976, when Veterans Stadium hosted the All-Star Game in the year of the nation’s bicentennial.

Friday, July 10, 7 p.m., Citizens Bank Park (MLB Network)

Leading is the HBCU Swingman Classic, co-created by Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. It highlights the history and legacy of HBCU baseball programs while also providing HBCU baseball players with the opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage. Jimmy Rollins and Rickie Weeks will be managers in the fourth annual edition of the contest. Beyond the game itself, the Swingman Classic is a celebration of HBCU culture featuring incredibly unique game presentation elements including music, entertainment and ceremonies born from historically black colleges and universities around the country.

Saturday, July 11-14, Pennsylvania Convention Center

MLB’s marquee fan festival, Capital One All-Star Village, will welcome fans from around the world for four days. All-Star Village, which includes the youth participation-focused Capital One PLAY BALL PARK.

Phillies legends scheduled to attend include Bobby Abreu, Larry Bowa, Steve Carlton, Dave Cash, John Denny, Tom Gorman, Cole Hamels, J. A. Happ, Von Hayes, Ryan Howard, Jim Kaat, Mike Lieberthal, Greg Luzinski, Charlie Manuel, Gary Matthews, Mickey Morandini, Jamie Moyer, Dickie Noles, Roy Oswalt, Placido Polanco, Ron Reed, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz, Juan Samuel, Jean Segura, Milt Thompson, Manny Trillo and Randy Wolf. All appearances are subject to change.

Howard and Rollins are slated to host a live recording of “The 6-1-1” Podcast presented by FanDuel at the festival that includes an interactive Baseball Theme Park of legends, mascots, games, music, food, shopping and more

Saturday, July 11, 1:30 p.m. (MLB Network)

For the sixth consecutive year, the MLB Draft, presented by Nippon Express, will also take place on Saturday. The opening rounds begin at 1:30 p.m. from the Pennsylvania Convention Center Grand Hall. Located adjacent to Capital One All-Star Village, attending the Draft is FREE and open to the public.

Sunday, July 12, noon (NBC)

The All-Star Sunday doubleheader leads off with the All-Star Futures Game, which highlights baseball’s top prospects playing in a seven-inning exhibition with some of Minor League baseball’s best promotions, mascots and entertainment filling the atmosphere.

Following the All-Star Futures Game will be a new and exciting addition to MLB All-Star Week’s dynamic lineup of events -- MLBx: All-Star 3-on-3. This is a fast-paced format built around power hitting and athletic catching, consisting of two semifinals and a final, with each game lasting 30 minutes. This co-ed competition unites male and female athletes alongside MLB legends and special guests, with lineups to be revealed at a later date.

One team will feature Phillies legends Rollins, Howard and Shane Victorino.

Monday, July 13, 8 p.m. (Netflix)

T-Mobile Home Run Derby. Eight power hitters. Three rounds. Dozens of homers. And one Home Run Derby champion.

Tuesday, July 14, TBD (MLB Network)

The All-Star Red Carpet Show, where MLB All-Stars showcase their personal style and greet the worldwide media with their families, will again take place prior to the All-Star Game.

The show will be held on America’s Most Historic Square Mile: Independence Mall, a three-block section of Independence National Historical Park that lies directly north of Independence Hall, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence. It will be free and open to the public. Information on how to obtain a free ticket will be announced prior to the All-Star Week.

Tuesday, July 14, 8 p.m. (FOX)

The 96th All-Star Game is set to feature the best players in the American and National Leagues presented by Mastercard.

It will be the fifth game in Philadelphia, 1943 and 1952 at Shibe Park and 1976 and 1996 at Veterans Stadium.
