LIVE: Top 100 prospects clash on Pipeline Game of the Month

The Pipeline Game of the Month is heading to the Keystone State tonight.

After visiting Somerset in April to see Anthony Volpe in action and Norfolk in May to see Adley Rutschman, Grayson Rodriguez and others do their thing, MLB Pipeline will be in Altoona to watch the Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pirates, take on the Bowie Baysox (Orioles) tonight at 6 ET. And there sure will be plenty of prospects on hand worth checking out -- including a Top 100 Prospects matchup.

Altoona shortstop Liover Peguero (No. 60) has been terrific all season, with a .294/.321/.476 line, 14 doubles (second in the Eastern League) and 22 extra-base hits (fourth in the E.L.) to go along with his outstanding defense.

Peguero is one of 10 active Pirates Top 30 Prospects on the Curve roster, a list that doesn’t currently include injured Top 100 guys Nick Gonzales, Henry Davis and Quinn Priester. Gonzales -- who with Peguero may comprise an All-Star middle-infield duo for Pittsburgh in years to come -- got off to a slow start, hitting .217 in April, but the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 Draft upped that to .266 in May as he had started to find his groove before being placed on the 7-day IL with a heel injury.

The Baysox are led by No. 46 prospect Gunnar Henderson, the super-athletic 20-year-old infielder who is third in the league with his .996 OPS. He's currently the top-ranked Orioles hitting prospect playing for a Minor League affiliate and is one of seven of the Baltimore's Top 30 on the Bowie roster.

Once a month, a member of the MLB Pipeline crew will bring fans even closer to the MiLB.TV action for some of Minor League Baseball's premier matchups. This time, Pipeline reporter and analyst Jonathan Mayo will be on-hand in Altoona. Mayo will provide live Instagram interviews with the top prospects on both rosters as well as a live tour of Altoona’s Peoples Natural Gas Field. He’ll also be a part of Altoona’s broadcast, which will be offered free on MLB.TV.

Additionally, select Minor League games featuring some of the game's top prospects will be available to stream for free on MLB.TV throughout the season. And if you like what you see there, all available Minor League games are streamed on MiLB.TV, and you can add that to an existing MLB.TV subscription for only $25.
