Injury: Right lat muscle strain
IL date: June 13 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Early July
Status: Said to be “trending in the right direction” by manager Don Kelly. Threw a bullpen session on June 20 up to 96 mph, according to general manager Ben Cherington. Threw a two-up, 30-pitch bullpen on June 23. Will start a rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona on June 27. (Last updated: June 26)

Injury: Left hamstring strain
IL date: June 25 (10-day IL)
Expected return: Mid-July
Status: Removed from game June 24 with hamstring discomfort after running the bases on a double-play ball in the third inning. Diagnosed with strain after ultrasound and MRI. (Last updated: June 25)

Injury: Right elbow
Expected return: TBD

Injury: Undisclosed illness
IL date: May 7 (transferred to 60-day IL on June 7)
Expected return: Maybe late July
Status: Transferred from 15-day IL to 60-day on June 7 to make room for infielder Davis Wendzel on the 40-man roster. Began side progression the first week of June. Expected to throw live batting practice first week of July. (Last updated: June 23)
LHP Hunter Barco (Pirates' No. 3 prospect)
Injury: Left elbow inflammation

Expected return: TBD
Status: Saw local orthopedics in Indianapolis. Information was sent to Dr. Keith Meiser, who performed his Tommy John surgery in 2022. Ligament is not an issue, per athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk. Will not throw for five to seven days. (Last updated: June 23)
