Citizens, Philabundance, Phillies and Aaron Nola Announce 2026 Phans Feeding Families Campaign to Strike Out Hunger

PHILADELPHIA – Citizens, Philabundance, the Philadelphia Phillies and Phans ambassador Aaron Nola today announced the 2026 Phans Feeding Families campaign to support hunger relief efforts in the Philadelphia region. From May 7 until June 20, community members are encouraged to rally and support the cause through the STRIKEOUTHUNGER text-to-give program, online auction (Thursday, June 4 to Monday, June 22) and Phans Feeding Families Game & Food Drive (Saturday, June 20).

To kick-start the campaign, Citizens has contributed $50,000 to Philabundance’s Community Kitchen (PCK), a free, 16-week culinary vocational training program that prepares low-income students for careers in the food service industry. Through the program, students prepare more than 450,000 annual meals for community members in need and are connected with in-demand food services jobs. Since its inception in 2000, 1,183 students have graduated from the program, with graduates going on to work in the food service and hospitality industries.

“At Citizens, we’re committed to making a difference in the communities we serve, and Phans Feeding Families is a partnership that drives economic impact and uplifts our local community,” said Dan Fitzpatrick, Mid-Atlantic President, Citizens. “Our investment in the Philabundance Community Kitchen supports both hunger relief today and workforce opportunity for tomorrow—preparing individuals for meaningful careers while helping feed our neighbors. We encourage the entire Philadelphia community to team up with Citizens, Philabundance, and the Phillies to strike out hunger together.”

In addition, Aaron Nola unveiled a public service announcement urging fans to take part in the cause, which will be shown on PhanaVision at every home game at Citizens Bank Park leading up to Phans Feeding Families Night on June 20.

“No one should ever go to bed hungry, but it’s a sad reality for so many,” said Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola. “Thank you to Philabundance for all you’re doing being the scenes to end hunger, and I urge our fans to join us in this important cause.”

Supporters of this year’s campaign can get involved in the following ways:

Founded in 1984 with the simple belief that no one should go hungry while healthy food goes to waste, Philabundance has spent the last four decades working with over 300 community partners to distribute food throughout nine counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. The organization also works to reduce food waste, increases access to nutritious meals, and tackles the root causes of hunger through programs including Philabundance Community Kitchen’s culinary training and workforce development.

Philabundance serves over 135,000 people each week – a number that continues to grow as families continue to deal with the rising costs of basic necessities, such as housing and food. Since Phans Feeding Families began in 2011, Citizens has contributed $720,000, and with the support of the bank and the Phillies, the campaign has helped raise more than $1 million for Philabundance’s hunger relief efforts. Together with fan donations, more than four million meals have been provided to families in need.

“Thank you, Citizens and the Philadelphia Phillies, for your generosity and continued partnership in the fight against hunger,” said Loree D. Jones Brown, CEO of Philabundance. “The support you and our ambassador Aaron Nola provide year after year helps ease the challenges and hard choices the nearly 700,000 people facing hunger in our region struggle with every day. We can only fulfill our mission of driving hunger from our communities today and ending hunger for good through funds, food, and friends—and you provide all three.”

“Across our region, far too many families are facing the daily challenge of putting food on the table,” said Jackie Cuddeback, Phillies Chief Revenue Officer. Philabundance plays a vital role in supporting our neighbors in need, and their mission remains critical to our community. The Phillies are proud to join Citizens, our partners and fans as we support this important effort to end hunger for good.”

In addition to the Phillies and Citizens, Aramark Sports + Entertainment, The GIANT Company, Goya Foods, Hatfield Quality Meats, KPMG, SEPTA and Tri-State Toyota Dealers are supporting Philabundance as partners in the 2026 campaign.
