MIKE TROUT SELECTED TO START 2026 ALL-STAR GAME
ANAHEIM – Mike Trout has been selected via fan voting to start in the outfield for the American League in the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, to be played Tuesday, July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, which is approximately 45 miles from Trout’s hometown of Millville, NJ. Trout extends his Angels records with 12 overall All-Star selections and 11 selections via fan voting.
Trout is the third player in American League history earn at least 11 fan elections with one Club, joining Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr. (BAL – 17) and George Brett (KC – 11). He is also the 12th player to receive at least 11 career fan elections overall, joining Cal Ripken Jr. (17), Rod Carew (15), Ken Griffey Jr. (13), Barry Bonds (12), Alex Rodriguez (12), Iván Rodríguez (12), Ozzie Smith (12), George Brett (11), Tony Gwynn (11), Reggie Jackson (11) and Mike Piazza (11).
Entering play today, Trout ranks in the Top 10 in the American League this year in walks (3rd; 66), OBP (5th; .394), OPS (8th; .866) and runs scored (T-8th; 54). During the 2026 season, he reached 1,200 career runs scored, 1,800 career hits, 1,100 career walks and 3,500 career total bases. He matched an American League single-season record with 29 runs scored in March/April and homered five times during a four-game series at Yankee Stadium from April 13-16. Additionally, he is the third player all-time with 400+ HR, 200+ stolen bases and 1000+ walks by his age-34 season, joining Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez.
Trout will be joined at the 2026 All-Star Game by Angels Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer Eric Munson, who was selected for his first All-Star Game as a member of the American League athletic training staff.
In his All-Star Game career, Trout has amassed a .412 average (7/17) with two doubles, one triple, two home runs, four RBI, three walks and four runs scored. He became the first player to win the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award in consecutive seasons after winning the honors in 2014 and 2015. His seven All-Star Game hits are the most in Angels history. Additionally, his 17 All-Star Game total bases before turning 28 years old tied Al Kaline and Ted Williams for the most in A.L. history; in the N.L., only Johnny Bench (18) had more by that age. Trout did not play in the 2017 and 2021-23 All-Star Games due to injury.
