SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:
- Michael Arroyo (#96), INF/OF, selected from Triple-A Tacoma.
- Patrick Wisdom, INF, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
- Nick Davila, RHP, transferred to 60-day Injured List (SC joint sprain).
The Mariners 40-man roster remains full at 40 players.
Arroyo (pronounced uh-ROY-oh), 21, will make his Major League debut when he first appears in a game. Michael is batting .286 (131x458) with 84 runs, 23 doubles, 5 triples, 18 home runs, 81 RBI and 17 stolen bases, getting on base at a .362 clip while slugging .476 for an .838 OPS in 113 games between Double-A Arkansas (65 G) and Triple-A Tacoma (48 G). In his last 10 games with the Rainiers (8/25-c), he is hitting .342 (13x38) with 9 runs, 2 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 10 RBI and an 1.069 OPS.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder is ranked as the No. 46 overall prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline. He is ranked as the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 7 prospect in the Mariners organization by the Athletic, Baseball America and MLB Pipeline, respectively.
Arroyo appeared in the World Baseball Classic representing Team Colombia. He batted .308 (4x13) with 4 runs, 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases in 4 games for Los Cafeteros.
The Cartagena, Colombia native was originally signed by the Mariners as an International Free Agent on January 15, 2022. He has appeared in parts of 5 minor league seasons, batting .278 (491x1766) with 357 runs, 100 doubles, 18 triples, 65 home runs, 274 RBI and 59 stolen bases with a .397 OBP, slugging .465 for an .862 OPS in 466 games. He has made defensive appearances in left field, second base, third base and shortstop.
Wisdom, 34, was recalled on August 23. In 15 games with the Mariners this season, he is batting .106 (5x47) with 3 runs scored, a double, 1 home run, 4 RBI and 3 walks. He also spent parts of 2020 in the Mariners organization after he signed with Seattle on Nov. 27, 2019. He appeared at Mariners Spring Training in 2020, and also the Mariners alternate training site that year, before he was released on Aug. 14, 2020.
In parts of 8 Major League seasons with the Cardinals (2018), Rangers (2019) and Cubs (2020-24) and Mariners (2026), Wisdom is a .205 hitter (279x1355) with 195 runs, 59 doubles, 3 triples, 89 home runs, 211 RBI and 135 walks, slugging .450 with a .736 OPS. He registered three 20+ home run seasons with the Cubs from 2021-23. In 2025, Wisdom played for the Kia Tigers in South Korea, registering 35 homers and 85 RBI in 119 games.
Wisdom has participated in charitable causes off the field, which includes supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Wisdom was the Cubs “Roberto Clemente Award” nominee in 2024.
Davila (DAH-vee-LAH), 27, was placed on the 15-day Injured List on August 30. In 24 appearances with the Mariners this season, he is 0-0 with a 4.94 ERA (15 ER, 27.1 IP), 13 strikeouts and 1 save.
In 16 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma and Double-A Arkansas this season, he owns a 2.33 ERA (5 ER, 19.1 IP) with 4 walks, 16 strikeouts, a 1.10 WHIP and 2 saves.
Davila was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers on July 7, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Mariners on March 27, 2023. He has appeared in 6 minor league seasons in the Tigers (2021-22) and Mariners (2023-c) organizations, going a combined 18-30 with a 3.90 ERA (156 ER, 360.0 IP), 107 walks and 345 strikeouts in 130 games (42 starts).
The 6-foot-3 right-hander is a Hialeah, Florida native. He played one season at the University of South Florida after transferring from Hillsborough Community College (Tampa, FL).
