What’s Happening This Weekend at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Rockies, May 8–10

The Phillies are taking on the Colorado Rockies, May 8–10, to close out the homestand. Here are this weekend’s fan highlights:

  1. Children 14 and under will receive an IBEW Local 98 Jesús Luzardo T-Shirt at the series opener on Friday, April 8, at 6:40 p.m. Plus, it’s Teacher Appreciation Night presented by Independence Blue Cross.

    Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:10 p.m.*

    • Fans are encouraged to donate school supplies at the First Base, Third Base and Left Field gates to benefit Cradles to Crayons.
    • Before the game, ten All-Star Teachers from local schools, selected from hundreds of current and former student, parent and peer nominations, will be honored on field. Each teacher earned a $1,000 donation to their school on behalf of Independence Blue Cross.
    • Prior to the first pitch, Miller Lite 12 oz. cans will be available at Miller Lite Liberty Landing for $6.99. The first 250 fans to purchase through this deal will receive a Phillies and Mileer Lite co-branded beverage wrap.
  2. Children 14 and under will receive Phil & Phillis Socks presented by Terminix at the 6:05 p.m. game on Saturday, May 9. Plus, the Phillies will celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month.
    Gate openings: all gates 4:35 p.m.

    • During batting practice, Phillies players and coaches will wear “Never Fightin’ Alone” Strike Out the Stigma t-shirts to support the mental health awareness cause.
    • Before the game, the Phillies will host the second sold-out Strike Out the Stigma event of the season presented by Park Avenue Worldwide. The session will feature special guest speakers, including Sesame Street’s Elmo and Rosemarie T. Truglio, Sesame Workshop’s Senior Vice President of Global Education.
    • Phillies World Series MVP Cole Hamels will make a special appearance as a guest bartender at the GHOST® Energy Deck, serving up custom GHOST cocktails for fans ahead of first pitch from 5:30-6:15 p.m.
    • Enjoy the pregame Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
    • Take photos with Phil and Phillis, as well as Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross with Historic Philadelphia, at the All-Star Game statue in the Third Base Plaza before first pitch.
    • On field, Kelsey McGuire with the Overbrook School for the Blind will be honored as part of the Independence Blue Cross Honor Roll program.
  3. The series concludes on Sunday, May 10, at 1:35 p.m., with Mother’s Appreciation Day presented by UKG. Women 15 and over will receive a Ladies Mock Neck Crew.
    Gate openings: 3B/LF – 11:05 a.m.; all other gates 12:05 p.m.

    • Before the game, Phillies wives who are mothers will be honored with a special moment during pregame ceremonies.
    • At the end of the 3rd inning, 102-year-old Dorothy Trate, an original “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII, will be honored on field as the day’s Toyota Hometown Hero.
